No Use promises folky, heavy, poppy, but no ska; 2008 touring plans coming together

No Use For A Name has posted another update on the progress towards their next record. Work officially began in July on the record which will follow their last studio record, Keep Them Confused, in 2005.

The band noted:

The band is coming in for some more practice on Monday. I wrote a song today, well part of a song called “the dregs of sobriety” i think that’s what it will be called anyway. But hey …things are going good. Can’t wait to get into the studio. Last time we practiced we drank more than practiced, this time it will be the other way around i think. So seeing that I had ten songs for the new CD there are now 11 or 10 and a half. The songs have turned out really rad. I love it.

To me there is kind of a folky feel to this record, meets heavy, meets poppy. Some variety for sure but still no ska or reggae. We pride ourselves on not pulling that card yet. No, Badfish cover by Sublime does not count. Maybe I will write the next song, the last song, like a hardcore song or something… or maybe not.

We are starting to plan tours for 2008 already. In 2008/09 we will be going to these places: The USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, South America, Europe, U.K., Ireland, Russia, Africa, Isreal, Turkey, and more…some twice.

The band released their hits package All The Best Songs on July 10, 2007.
