Hi! Since the original purchase of Battlefield 2142 I have not been able to save my control configuration for all of my keys.
I map my forward key to my right mouse button. All my other keys save just fine but every time I launch the game I have to re-set the right mouse button to be forward all over again. I have to do this for each section in the game, Infantry, Land, Air etc...
I have tried setting it as primary key, as a secondary key, setting a key I will never use as primary and selecting this as secondary and visa versa. I tried setting it in game, ALT-tabbing out and making the config file read only. NOTHING WORKS!
I have a friend that has a similar problem so it is not just something weird with my install. I kept hoping over and over this would be patched but I just applied the latest one and it STILL does not save this setting.
I am not getting on you guys but this is such a simplistic thing to correct. It is just a setting in the config file. I can set it in game and it works fine once set so why cannot the game save it for next time????
Can you PLEASE correct this???
Thanks guys and have a good one.

Hello,
Thank you for contacting Electronic Arts. Iâm sorry for the difficulty that you are having with Battlefield 2142.
Unfortunately, the controls that you change are not saved when you exit the game. These controls are reverted back to the default controls that was set on the game.
Should you wish to reconfigure the controls to your liking, you do have to change them each and everytime your game boots up.
Should you require further assistance about this or any Electronic Arts games in the future please visit our website and review our extensive Self Help knowledgebase (http://support.ea.com)

So there answer is NOTHING!!! Man this is lame. I have not had a love relationship with EA but I do love the games.
There is really no excuse for some basic bugs in game, but I understand the difficulty in debugging engine code, but to not be able to save a simple control setting that is stored in a text file??
