BF3 Is Here!!!!!!!

Wow! Who would have ever thought we'd be here at this point, BF3 is a reality. The question is, can it live up to the legacy of BF42, BFV and BF2?

We shall see.......

Considering my first open of it this morning started with a series of my mouse dragging to the floor continually. And something wasn't happy with my radeon drivers.. I have not had a good first go at it.

That being said it did look great and sound awesome for the first shot or two prior to the eternal drag down. Will readdress when I have more than 5 minutes to play.

There is already a list of 10 very important things to address in first emergency patch from dice -
Was reading all the play issues today looking for the info for Atomm about ow many needed to start a server.

So yah - Dice is already working on emergency patch #1

Still runs better than BF2 did at launch by miles and miles. As a side note, Crash to Desktop is now a feature/result of being disconnected from the server. ...that last statement is both true and somewhat amusing to me.

Drix, I have a feeling it's part of the push to make you use the stinking Web based browser. It's not CTD, it's Crash To Browser. :-)

Yea Duck, it's been a pain answering that question through searching. I'll join some empty servers after the kiddo hits the sack and see how it's going.

I beat the single player "story mode" last night... While it wasn't the worst thing I ever played, it was lacking in a couple areas...

The story was kinda "meh"...
Some of the scripted events were off. One event failed me before it even started.
The single player was shorted then I expected...

I will be playing multi-player all day today, but from what I have seen, it is running well in that area...

I surprised that they even make a single player mode now a days.
I wonder if they will someday there will be a multiplayer disk and a single player disk and a combo disk versions for online players like us, SP for the kiddies that mom and dad approve of and no online content and old school combo disk.

Of coarse price competitive.

So yeah I broke down and bought if for the xbox. I just couldnt bring myself to shell out the money for a game that isnt going to look it's best.

Plays great on the xbox btw.

Don't listen to these people... They seem to be stuck in the mentality that if you don't still play on PC then you must suck...

Fact is, playing on a 48" lcd, relaxing in the living room and not having to deal with any of the PC issues is really really nice. The teamwork is great, the graphics look great and the gameplay is very nice...

Oh, and for that "Have fun with your 30fps"... That's nothing new to the console world and it doesn't effect the game to where you are all emo about having to play 30fps... If that were the case then you would not see all of these games [The CoD franchise, Battlefield, etc...] selling millions on consoles. Hell, I didn't know what the framerate was on fps games on consoles till it was mentioned here... So, you can tell how much it effected me... [Hint: I didn't know, didn't care, still don't care.]

So, here is the deal... Play on whatever platform you want... Have fun! That is the point of a "game"... Sadly, we won't be running into each other in game as some of us play on different platforms, but that's just the way things turned out...

Getting me to sit back down at the same desk that I work at all day to play a game on a 22" lcd screen is not something I care to do...

While I don't own a single console, I do see the draw to them for all the reasons you point out.

Just put in Phenom II X4 965 and game played a lot better; however, still got the same issue with bf3.exe crashing after a couple of maps online. But really why am I shocked at this when EA is the company behind it.
