So BF3 End Game 2013 - think it is the end of the series?
Hey if that floats your boat. - Have fun!

Can Close Quarters = Special Forces
    Armored Kill = Armored Fury
Aftermath = Euro Force (Don't know what Aftermath is about)

Just wondering if that is the same track BF3 is following like BF2?

I don't have any plans to get it at this point. I'm not playing BF enough (or really at all lately) so it would be a waste of money.

I don't play it a ton much either anymore (damn you Diablo 3 and soon Guild Wars 2).

I will probably end up getting it anyways. I figure I will put in at least 30 hours each expansion which even at $15/expansion is worth it to me, but instead I can get it for cheaper as a premium account.

My concern is how dice handles patching and delivery dates and I would hate to give them my money upfront and then they half ass the delivery of the content and patches.

Diablo 3 has already seen 1 major patch and they have revealed the timeline of the next major patches....and these will all occur before Dice pushes the next expansion and/or patch.

So ephil, how is Close Quarters?

I enjoy it as long as it is a 16-24 person server... Anything bigger than that and it is just chaos...

Gun master is fun, but that is a mode I have enjoyed from the CoD games...

New weapons are fun to play with... New maps look cool and play well...

    I like it!

    Anyone else get it?

I gave up on BF3 about 3 hours in to it, in fact the very last time I was on was with you and Sarge - something like 5 months ago.... (or more?)

I got it....and CQ is "meh".

I prefer tactical game play and CQ is definitely Run'n'Gun. Ephil hit the nail on the head, anything larger than 24 people and you can't go 10' without shooting and someone and having someone shoot at you all at once. I think I went something like 45-32 in a 10 minute game.

there is definitely very little team work, the only teamwork I have experienced is when you and 1 or 2 other people get locked into a corner and just hold it, till they run off and leave you stranded.

Think of it as a super fast paced team deathmatch on a map that doesn't promote camping and sniping.

I am "eh" on the map designs...it is better than metro's 3 choke point, 0 flanking design, but in these maps you can get flanked from about 3 different spots no matter where you are located, so you get shot from behind a lot more than you normally do in other maps. The mini map is almost worthless.

As for the value....its $50, if you plan to get the last 3 expansions they will most likely be $15 each. So if you get premium, think of it like this...you get CQ for $5, early access to all the expansions, and some other non game benefits (stats reset, new knife, new dog tags, etc).

Ended up getting it a while back and actually like CQ. Really enjoyed the 48+ servers when they rotate to a CQ map. Just grab the shotty and act like it is CoD!

I haven't bought it myself yet actually. I keep getting tempted but have managed to hold off. That being said, I saw this morning that you can get the expansion packs for $14.99. The $20 one includes the full version of BF3 as well.
