A PBF thread about it, with some pics. Give it a look-see.

On the subject of mods, I'm really liking Dcon, but it needs some work. I noticed my deaths stopped registering (tho I admit to thinking that is a FEATURE), hopping while shooting is allowed ( 😳 ), bunny-hopping is way way way overdone in most of the games I was in, and the AT kit is utterly defenseless against a foot soldier, with only the AT weapon, a knife and a pistol to defend yourself. The AA missile seems to be useless against anything but aircraft, and the AT weapon isn't as good against ppl as the BF2 one is.

I saw some scary dolphin-diving-like behavior, but not that blatent hovor-in-air action. I'd like to see that addressed, but this IS an apha release.

Until they give the AT class a pump shottie or something, it's just too damned vulnerable and NEEDS A SQUAD TO SUPPORT IT. Guess if you can find such a squad in pubs. . .go on. . .think about it, I'll wait. . .
    NO!!!!!

Anyway, what do you know, or think, about CQB?

Sounds like a good mod. I am enjoying dcon too, although I have had a much different time with the AT, done quite well with it.

Actually sounds like something we should do a FNF for sometime.

The current server is in Nashville, so DocJon will be pwn'n all of us.

You're the first person I've heard say that. On PBF and in-game, everyone I talked to about this didn't like the lack of a real personal combat weapon. I've heard some moan that the AT & AA are too strong against vehicles, but no one said they think it's good in a firefight with infantry.

To what do you credit your success with it?

I don't think it's good in a firefight with infantry, but it's deadly to a vehicle. The AT kit isn't designed for person to person. When I run into another person I switch to pistol or knife. But I got alot of points taking out vehicles. I like the fact you can shoot and hide with it, and I like the fact I can take a long hail mary shot again (and even hit sometimes).

But Bubba, every shot you take is a long hail mary..... 😈

I see. Yeah, I'm enjoying it against vehicles as well. It's the infantry that's my undoing.

Played this mod on Monday night against some bots for a bit and it wasn't bad. It is a Japanese mod which may explain why it has gone under the radar here. Lots of city fighting with the only vehicles being civilian cars/trucks except for an Internal Defense Force troop truck with a mounted .50 Kits are tweaked from vanilla and require that you have useful teammates. Sniper has only knife, pistol and rifle. Assault has the same plus grenades, Spec Ops has scoped rifle, plus smoke and flash-bangs and a grapple hook, but no grenades. In other words, there isn't a single kit that generally fits all situations. The bots are useless unless you drive them to a specific location where they can find the enemy bots. Otherwise they all pile in a truck and get stuck in a ditch somewhere 🙄 Would be fun to play with others for a couple hours if we can find a server - there were like 5 or 6 up and 4 of them were in Japan 😒

The buildings and other in game stuff look great. Some of the vehicles are a little weird to drive, but that could also be because you drive from the right side...

Thanks for the info, Sarge. I've been playing Dcon any time I've been in-game. I DL'ed CQC, but don't think I've even installed it yet. Shit, for like 6 months, NOTHING. Now we're gonna get 2 or 3 interesting mods within a week.

I LIKE the kits not being all-around kits. It's clear that you're supposed to play a role, and to maximize your chances, you need to stick to your role, and have others stick to theirs. At least in theory. The AT kits are the same way in Dcon, but I have yet to find a squad that will protect me from infantry. Instead, I've had to lone-wolf it, and stay close to vehicles so I can bail if things get out-of-hand.

Sadly, I'm not surprised about the 'bots.

I went about dl'ing it but when it got to about 90% I managed to lose my internet connection.. needless to say I have not yet started it back up.
