Looks like they are going for Churn and Burn with Battlefield. Beta for BF4 is Fall 2013. No other info has been released, so we have no idea what it will entail.
I will say that if it's WWII, I'm all over it. Otherwise, I think I'm done with Battlefield.
I'm going to take a wait and see approach to this one. I enjoyed BF3 but essentially couldn't get enough playtime to feel like I could compete. It got pretty frustrating at that point as does any game where you can't play enough to keep up with everyone else.
Ok people... I have to say it... A lvl 1 can play against a lvl 145 and still do well...
There are people here saying that they can not compete as they are not high enough level to do so...
IF you are talking about in vehicles... You have a point...
IF you are talking about infantry only... I don't think you have a point and would be willing to make a level 1 build out on a team deathmatch server to prove it.
Vehicles can be tough if you don't have things like flares or smoke, so I can feel ya there...
Wasn't really meaning weapons and the like. What I meant was that when I play regularly, my reactions get better and I get into the flow of the game. I then don't play for a week or so and my reactions suck, my rhythm is off and I get beaten badly. At that point I get frustrated and don't want to play. Cue cycle.....
The question is whether the 4 denotes a true move up to new tech and new ideas, as has been the case for 1942, 2 and 3, or an interation a la the CODs. We shall see. In about 18 months. I really would prefer only hearing about videogames a couple of weeks before theyâre released, I think.
I do feel outgunned. In previous battlefields, I felt like I could jump in at any time and hold my own. For some reason, I can't do that with 3. It's a little bit of the weapons and a lot of what Sarge said.
BF3 favors people who play together and use voice coms, not pubbers. The second I play with another GRB I start doing better. I think they missed the boat a bit on balancing this time around.
I will still get BF4 because I am a BF Fanboy and Counter-Strike is really my only other FPS and I am not excited about CS:Go.
Just because it goes in Beta in 2013 doesn't necessarily mean it will be early 2013. Then on top of that how long will it be in Beta. If it comes out mid to late 2014, that is 3 years between releases which really isn't that bad to push a new game, as long as it isn't just a bunch of rehashed BF3 maps....or wake island!
I really wanted it to be 2043 but that won't happen...and I don't think it will be a WWII game, however I would love to get a new WWII game with today's 3D engines....Battlefield 1942 in Frostbite would be absolutely stunning!
I agree about the WWII content. Frostbite is pretty, but the gameplay just doesn't seem to be that fun to me, it may be due to the overwhelming power in each game and maybe a WWII simulation would take that down a notch. I will still buy BF products, but may not play them much as with the last several releases.

Wow, everyone who paid for something to gain early access to the beta gets a whole 3 days before it's opened up to everyone. EA pulls the ultimate troll!
BTW, there is a new video on gameplay from the beta map. There are some unreal moments. I'm trying to find a public version.
