OK, thought I'd put our official FnF post back where it usually is, for the benefit of visitors.

We've been talking in the GRB Members-only section, and since Quake Wars has been delayed, we're looking for something to take our minds off that.

These have been our suggestions for this week's FnF:

    http://www.zombiemaster.org/about.php#why

Zombie Master is a multiplayer Half-Life 2 modification, centred around a zombie-apocalypse, which throws all but one player in the shoes of human survivors. Pitched against a relentless tide of rotting flesh, they must scavenge for weaponry and equipment just to stay alive. But that one player, chosen randomly at the beginning of the round, is not bound by mortal restraints.

To speak his name is to invite the wrath of hell - but most call him the 'Zombie Master'. He is nigh omnipotent. His invisible hand controls the legions of undead like puppets on strings; slowly closing the net on the humans while they run to and fro like rats in a maze.

    (A nice, free bittorrent utility)

PVKII Is a Half-Life 2 Modification based on 3 teams from times past locked in a never-ending battle for wealth, dominance and power.

Pirates, Vikings & Knights II pits each team against one another in a variety of different scenarios enabling a varied, strategic, and fun gameplay. Each team has its overall strengths and weaknesses, as well as each member within those teams contributing special abilities for the success or failure of each goal.

Speak now or suffer the ignominy of playing a game not of your choosing, or (shudder) spending time at home with your family!

I think we've been leaning towards the Zombie game, but nothing has been set in stone yet. If possible, DL both, and one will be a backup if the other fails miserably. Of course, BF2 Vanilla city maps are always a fallback option.

either is fine. I've played the pkvII mod and it's fun. Haven't played the zombie one yet.

I'll be honest, I'm more excited about the Pirates vs Knights mod than the Zombie mod, but I will gladly play either....

FYI, you should be able to reupload your torrent file without the .txt extension. It's now on the allowed list.....

The question is... I don't have HL2 but I have CS1.6 and CSS and DoD... do I need to buy HL2 for this mod....

Sindy I am looking in your direction.

I can answer your question Bubba, and sadly, yes, you would have to buy HL2.

We never did finish that list that showed who owned what game. Atomm has a spot set-up on the front page, but we need to fill that out a bit more.

We need a spot for Half-Life 2 (for so we know who can run those mods), MAYBE Half-Life as well. Counterstrike needs to be two categories: Counterstrike 1.6(I think) runs on the original Half-Life engine, and Counterstrike:Source, which runs on the HL2 engine. There's another version or 2 of Counterstrike, but no one plays it anymore. BF42 & BF:V might be helpful, and I wouldn't bitch if we had a Day of Defeat section as well.

I'll start a thread another day, and we'll get everyone's info.

I wanted to add I might be a little late for FnF this week, but I'll be there when I can.

Bubba, I picked it up on Steam for $9.95. It's kind of hard to find, but here are the directions:

    I got HL2, HL2: Gold Coast, HL2: Episode One, HL2: Deathmatch and HL2:Source for $9.95.

If anyone else wants to get this, go to games, then click action, sort by price, then go to page 2. They don't show it to you when you go to HL2. All you see are the $20 and up packages.

For $10, I think this is worth it just for the fact that we can check out a bunch of different mods. It at least gives us something new to do until QW.

I posted this to the OKGG website.

I said this before but it can be said again, it is soooo worth $10 just to play HL2 and HL2 Episode I. Those are really really great stand alone games.
Play HL2 then play Episode I as it continues right after HL2 ends. Episode II is due out this year I believe. I cannot wait 😉

Gold Coast is just a demo section of a level they released before Episode I came out. It really is not a game or pack or anything. Unsure why they even list it as such.

Then there are the mods so do it... 😉

I don't mind buying it but HL2 is showing up as $19.95 on my screen
I followed your directions atomm. The is nothing on the 2nd page under 19

Try the first page.... It's kind of goofy. The price was $19.95, but when I looked at it, there was a $10 instant savings. I'm not sure why....

Another thing to try is to go to Games, Browse Games, Then scroll down to the By Price Section, then click 1-10. I can't see the package I bought now because it's in my account. All of those games show up on their own on that page.

However, I did see HL2:Source and HL2:Deathmatch for $9.95. That will allow you to play the mods if you can't find the package I bought.....

Oh, and the Gravity Gun is by far the coolest weapon I have ever used in any game..... And the ragdoll physics are incredible.... At one point, I kept picking up the bad guys and shooting them against this large glass window just to see them flail around and to see how much of the window I could cover in blood splatter.... Fun Times...... :-)
