Friday night is coming up. Anyone able to make it this week, or would you rather give this one a miss? I know there is some burn-out going on with BF2. Would a week or two off help matters?

Sorry Doc. We are taking our daughter to the observatory for her birthday. I hope it doesn't rain.

Maybe next week, but I don't have alot of use for pub servers anymore.

Cool. I've never been, though I always wanted to. I had a telescope when I was young, used to call the observatory & the old Buhl Science Center to get info and talk with the guy who used to write astronomy articles in the Press -Paul Oles. I think it's great that you're taking her. No one ever took me. . .<sniff!> 🙁

I should be around, but may not be able to get on until 10 or so.

Damn Doc. Its totally free you know. You need to make reservations months in advance however. Its also only open spring and summer for the public. I used to play tennis there everynite, but could never get in a tour. I guess its losing popularity.

On another unrelated note tho. I was having great difficulties with BF and mods. A couple of days ago my modem quit working. I thought it was just temp service drop, but a few hours later I plugged in another modem and it came back to life. Turns out the modem first downshifted from 1.0 to 768 for a couple of months, then died. The wierd thing is it tested good, both internal daignostic and win network found no problems.

I'm using a 'borrowed' one at the moment. Any idea if Verizon will replace it once the contract is over?

They'll replace it now if you're paying them monthly rental. If you're not, maybe they will after the contract is up and they want you to stay, but you aren't obligated to.

That sux, I just threw out 3 Verizon modems. Let me know if they won't give you a new one. I might have another

You, sir, have lost a large chunk of your geek cred. A real geek would be hard-pressed to give up his old 2400 baud modem, let alone perfectly usable hardware!

Also, this thread DID have another question, related to the title. 😛

Damn Straight! Still have my 300 Baud and plan on keeping it until the day I die. May even ask them to bury me with it..... 😈

I should be around. My wife and daughter are heading up to Oklahoma to spend mothers day with all the grandma's. I have to stay home and, ummm, watch the dogs, yea.... :-)

You know what I would like to play? Some good old fashion city maps, 32 or 64 with my GRB buds on the same squad......

Good to hear. Hope you stay well for this weekend. Some 32-48 player Sharqui, Mashturr and Karkand might be a kick. Jalalabad would be OK as well.

I am still not feeling well but if I feel up to it I will join up. I will say that as of now I am not
I do enjoy playing with you guys though 😉
What TS server do we use?

Lexx I have my old DSL modem laying around if you need it. No need for any modems with FIOS. 🙂

At least this explains your game lag problem.

ts.gamersradio.com:8822 which is prominently displayed on the front of the new GR site.....

Ok, I just lost my job, I have a half of bottle of Scotch, a brand new bottle of mix, a quarter bag of ice and nowhere to be until Monday at 3:30PM....

    LETS GET IT ON!!!!!!!!!!!

Judge/Mental may also jump in tonight and he's in the same boat, except that part about the alcohol..... :-)

Cool beans. Thx. I also have one leftover from Earthlink but wasn't sure it would work here. It had a login/password built in, but I think that was just the method to connect to EL. What I already miss about mine was the builtin wireless 4pt router, but the LinkSys is working aok.

Yah I'd like to tryout a mod to see if the lag issue is resolved. Have full speed back now as well.

Your modem was an all in one unit with the router and wi-fi all built in???
