Friday Night Fights 06-15: BF2 2nd Anniversary Edition

BF2 is approaching it's second anniversary, and so I dub this FnF the BF2 2nd Anniversary Edition. It's all explained in the title. . .Geez, do I have to spell EVERYTHING out for you guys? 🙂

So, post here about what we're doing, and what you want to do. I'm telling you though, if you guys pick the damn airmaps again, I'm gonna bitch about it all night! (You didn't think I'd let you off easy and not show up, did you? 😀 )

BTW, What's with the funky forum title? It looks like crap, and is inaccurate. Does the "looks like crap" part override the "inaccurate" part, or vice-versa? What's the over-under on Atomm considering this an addressable issue? 😛

I'm up for playing whatever on Friday. The less air maps the better as far as I'm concerned, although mixing in one now and again isn't too bad.

1942.V.2.142 is a play on Microsoft Build numbers. Battlefield has sort of all ran together, so I threw it together. I see someone added commas. Well, that doesn't look too good to me either, so I'll just rename it to Battlefield or the Battlefield Series or something easy.

Sarge, I like your idea and can even make it seem legit. Let's fly all night under our aliases, then we can get the stupid n00b treatment. It'll be just like old times. :-)

Hehe, 2 years? Seems like 4 or more with the slow loading times and crashes to desktop.

Its cool Sarge. I was updating a few of the forums and noticed traffic for the 2142 forum was at a standstill, so I combined it with the BF2 forum.

I am not sure if I will be on tonight. In a rare twist, my little one is staying with her Grandparents. Depending on how my wife feels, we may actually go out and do something together.

If things change, I'll be on though....

I am here now. I am excited to test this out.

I finally got two new 7950 GTOC video cards running in SLI. Sweet!!!!!
I am running BF2 in 1600X1200 4XAA all settings maxed and am getting 70-100 FPS using fraps.
Now this is on an empty server but it is still cool.

Now the bad thing about SLI that I discovered is the fact that you cannot run two monitors when in SLI mode. So I have to stick it in SLI mode and reboot before playing games and do not have the second monitor but it is worth it 😉

Besides I have the second computer running on the second monitor for TS etc...

I got home late last nite. Tried to join via xfire a few times but the servers were full. Finally when it opened up abit, I got an invalid CD key error. So that was nough' for me.

Someone got the beasts to run them with dual-monitors..

Though they did need a third V-Card for the support...


This revalation is disturbing to me as I just managed to wrangle a cpu upgrade and if this no dual with SLI rings true for my Quadro FX 3500 and its future twin I will have to give up the twin to a one of my fellow employees to keep my dual monitors... BAH.

You can still run duel monitors man just not when in SLI mode. So right before you game you need to enable SLI and reboot. Then while playing the game you will lose the duel monitors. Once done gaming you can disable SLI and re enable your duel monitors with out a reboot. I just wish it would not take a reboot to enable SLI but it does not take that long.
