So I never pilot a heli, because well I suck at it. I was planning on jumping on our server from time to time when it's empty to setup my joystick bindings and practice flying.

    Any recommendations/tips for practicing?

I own a Logitech Extreme 3D Pro joystick

If the server is empty (and when is it not), feel free to grab the server info and change the map if you need to. It's in the private forums.

I was about to switch it to Karkand, so I'm not sure what difference that will make for Helo's.

I don't think any of us have mastered the new helo's yet. But, if you joystick has an altitude lever, try sticking it in the middle and see if it will hover the helo. I remember doing something like that in BF2.

I am much better at it than I used to be, thanks to the COOP map.. but definitely..

Anyone use a 3D Navigator for home? Was wondering if there was an ini file for it to work with BF3 or not.

So I jumped on tonight to get my joystick all setup...man once it's configured properly and buttons are mapped it's so nice compared to mouse/keyboard.

I was on there the tapping flags practicing my landings and flying and a few random people jumped on. told them I was practicing my heli skillz and they joined in and we started just doing dog fights with heli's and jets.

It was cool that random people just jumped on and started practicing air combat instead of trying to just win the map.

Yeah, I need to set the time to get my puck drivers set for some BF3 action.. am ok with mouse+keyboard.. just the stopping in the helo is hell.

I'm going to attempt to setup my joystick for piloting this weekend @ the OKGG LAN. I never really put any effort into it in BF2. We'll see if I can do any of it worth a darn.

OKGG LAN is a physical place right?
(Trying to dust off the way back machine - but the battery is dead)

I was working on it.. but then I jsut feel back to using the wasd and the arrow keys for control.. might still do a combo with a mouse.. just unsure.
