I Think Hell Just Froze Over

I decided to check out Planet Battlefield to see whats new on the BFBC2 front. Didn't even realize the game was released today. While scanning down the page, I saw two news items that shock me.

A 300MB patch was released on Day 1. DAY FREAKING 1!!!!!!1!1!111

We know that every single BF game released came out needing fixes from the get go. We also know that it took months before DICE actually gave us those fixes. But for them to release a patch on the very first day, that impresses the hell out of me.

A little further down, I saw another shocking revelation. They released the server control software on day 1 as well.

I don't know about you, but I believe we have found the cause of all the snow storms recently. It's all DICE's fault!

😄 So it is true that hell has frozen over!

I am keeping an eye on BF2BC - not planning on buying yet, but it's a definite maybe down the road a bit.

I'll pick it up the next time I'm in Best Buy or maybe Wal-Mart.... I thought about Steam, but for some reason, I want the box on this one.

Yeah they released a Map Pack today with 3 new maps.

I have it. OKGG played it through beta. best BF series game yet, IMO. So long story made short it's darn good.

I'm about half way through the single player, and it's darn good. Multiplayer, The online server browser is still having some issues after the patch, but nothing that's much affecting gameplay.

Only real con I've personally seen is that it no longer has "prone" as a stance option. I miss being able to crawl beside lower barriers, and using prone when sniping.

But I've not really done a lot of sniping in a long time. Honestly I've have a lot more fun playing with the assault, engineer and medic kits. Especially the engineer. Replace the pistol in the kit with a tracer dart gun and I've started to get scary with the RPG.

DevilDog just set up a 2nd server for =DC=, -=NC=-, |GRB|, [CgC] and friends. We'll probably run 2 servers in 2 different locations to give folks the option for a better ping depending on their location. We'll probably also run them in 2 different game modes for some variety. I'll keep you posted!
