I remember Sarge said he had an issue with the spawn screen - I have had this issue I let it sit for about 30 min until the map changed. New map and still stuck in the spawn screen.
Exited out of the server, connected to the same server and now I only see tags of players not the players them selves, also do not see my weapons only the 4 white markers where the weapon points in from the hip mode, when I zoom to iron sights... nothing.
Also do no see who kills me and kill cam I see the background moving but not the player.
Killed the browser and Origin, same - different server this time.
Restarted PC - same - 3rd different server -
Have set processor affinity to Proc 0 then Proc 1 then Proc 0 and 1 - same.
Video driver is latest available (and only one I can use with the game.)
Wow, that's much worse than anything I've experienced. I occasionally run into a bug where I can't see the spawn menu but it has always worked itself out fairly quickly.
I can't think what could be the root of the problem that you are seeing other than the video card. Have you tried different video settings in game to see if that makes a difference?
Sarge wrote:Well, maybe a clean install of drivers and BF3 will help fix your in game issues too.
good luck.
I know this sounds insane, but be sure to update your flash manually (Especially for the chrome users). I hadf an issue where it was failing to launch the game, and after three hours of multiple uninstalls, manual uninstalled, re-installs, manual updates and file repairs, finally manually installing flash corrected my issue.
And that's my insane, but true story from November's LAN.
Your post was quite timely Drix - FLASH did need an update - but for some reason I did have Chrome installed and the game associated it self with Chrome - this new install I did not put chrome on (did not like it much) and now I see a Chrome error message in game about not being able to update web content. ....and a bunch of clickies and what not and FireFox is able to open the game....
My Virus software (Eset Nod32) is now balking on the ports used for the game and when I try to start it locks it down - I can get to the browser based area to look at your soldier but starting it - Nod32 says NO!
I'm apprehensive about shutting the Nid32 off to play as I need an open web browser to play...... Working on it
EDIT - as a side note too - FireFox and LastPASS are not auto logging me or remembering my user name and passwords - fresh installs are nice - but a P I T A also.

Love me some lastpass... too bad their android support isn't quite up to snuff.
That being said, there is also a service pack for Win7 around nowadays as well. But I am sure you were aware.
Getting closer - can get Origin to open and can see account - had to do several downloads for browser plug in application.
But like in Beta - wrong Quadro drivers for the video cards. I have installed and stable 257.33 - NVidia has 276.28 as downloadable beta and game says I need 285.38 to run......
never mind.... apparently I cant count numbers over 10 fingers and 10 toes.
* * EDIT * * YES! Found the driver - and look what it says on page 21 of the documentation.
Unsupported Features The following are features and functionality that were available in driver releases supporting Windows XP, but are notâand will not beâavailable in driver releases for Windows Vista/Windows 7: High resolution scaling desktop (HRSD) NVIDIA Quadro graphics cards
Yah me!
Anyone know good support forums for BF3? I think it worked for me last time before I formatted and re-installed Windows 7 because it was a version of Win 7 that was an upgrade from (and still on the hard drive) from Windows XP Pro.
Think that's why it works last time for me before the crash as Windows XP was the underlying operating system?
Bubb hot lips wrote:So in the beta when that happened, I didn't bother to upgrade, and the game still ran, just it always gave me that error message. I did have to click on the bf3 task in the task bar to maximize it, it looks like a grey smiley face.
damn if it didn't work - I just clicked the red "X" in the upper right corner of the error message to close it.... and waited the requisite 15 min to join a map.......
And it worked! DAMN IT I HATE WHEN BUBBA IS RIGHT!!!!!! Life sucks for me when he gloats. (Goats) For months.
*sigh*
[unenthusiastic 3rd grader] Thank you Mr. Bubbaaaaaaaaaaa [/unenthusiastic 3rd grader]
Just for grins - I installed BFBC2 (for like the thousandth time) - if you recall, I had a KEY IN USE issue that neither STEAM nor EA wanted to touch or re-issue a new key for me.
- it works -
Must have been a registry issue and once I formatted the HD and reinstalled a fresh copy of Windows..... no more CD KEY IN USE error message.
- so - who's up for some BFBFC2?
On the plus side - the freaking game launches and you get in to servers in about 30 seconds flat - not this 10 min crap of BF3.
So now it seems my mouse has decided to pick up the 'look over your shoulder and lick your ear' disease in a BF3 map. Quit annoying considering I was playing one map and all was well then decided to switch servers to join compadres, and all of the sudden I am trying to eat my ear [constantly looking up-right/down-right causing eternal spins]
