    Well, tonight I decided to test out Mercenaries in singleplayer... wow.

    After downloading all the maps... and there are quite a few I started to install them.. halfway through I though WTF... I haven't even played yet, so I installed what looked to be a promising one that I had not reached yet and sat down to play a bit of easy SP... Map is named SNIPERS as well.. thats my fav. Everyone was either a sniper or a medic.. all 50CALs capable of multi-kills.. and quick like 5sec respawns.. Think Insta-Gib for yet at BF speeds, definitely worht it for a co-op map. Don't know how much fun it would be if the enemy could actually hit back. Had 150+ kills in one round.. with 1k tickets.

    It was hilariously fun and worth at least the relatively small download of mod and map just to test out.

    280MB Mod File

    and the Sniper Map

    The Main Mod Page

    The Quickpage at Filefront for all the DL's

    There are a few servers out there running co-op which seems to be what the mod is about.. nevertheless it is fun. The servers ips are listed on the main sitepage.

    would be fun to have a private little bash one of these days or just to hone some flying skills if you take to the plane maps.. hell even just to have a fun singleplayer experience.

    I'm concerned about the seperate maps... It's hard enough to get people to install a mod, but then to ask them to install individual map on top of that....

    Fugheta bout it......!

    Are the servers running the other maps?

    It looked like the servers were running a number of maps. It really is a great fun deal, would be a lot better with more people playing as co-op. Hell I would guess even Lexx would like it, kinda like UT's Onslaught but constant.

    Either way, it is also a good way to test maps for your pack, there are a crapload and would need little if anything to use on vanilla or whatever. The maps I have played were interesting enough to get me to look forward to playing more.

    Just try it is all I am saying. Might revitalize the game for you a bit.

    Is this something we want to try for FnF at all?
    If so lets pick say a dozen maps or see what maps most servers require, so we can all be on the same page.

    I don't even know if anyone else has tried it yet. I will see if there are any good connections to the servers that are out there.

    Interestingly enough googling Mercenaries 10.0 brings up this post...

    Madosgas server
    IP= madosga.no-ip.biz
    player stats available rank/ribbons

    UKC-Xtreme server
    IP=77.74.193.218
    player stats available rank/ribbons

    TFK server
    IP=74.223.80.38
    player stats available rank/ribbons

    I played on the second server, the first was running something else. Was interesting and different online. Difficult to say the least even with 3 'living' players. The least two apparently have a combined score server that keeps track of your stats/awards. Due to the volume of kills though.. I got all the basic awards including commander and car in the first three rounds..
