Tuesday night DCON

Our buddies at Vertical Finger are trying to organize a night of DCON on Tuesday since most US folks have the day off on Wednesday.

I believe that they will be using their Bar & Grill Server.

I'm going to try and play but won't likely be on until around 10:00 EST.

I will get DCON reinstalled.

I'm up for it!

Has Dcon changed at all since we tried it before or will we need an update?
I am going to a pirates game/"Live" concert/fireworks night so have no idea when I will be home Tuesday.
If it is not too late I will try to jump on but it will be after 11-12:00 EST for sure..

I don't think that it has changed at all. There has only been one release as far as I know.

There is in fact only one version of Dcon, and it's the one we played in March

DCON is a mod for BF2 I assume or is it something else?

It is a BF2 Mod. Based on the Desert Combat mod from the BF1942 days.

Desert Conflict IS a mod for BF2, you are correct.

It's a Half-Life 2 mod called Insurgency we are thinking of playing on FRIDAY. If anyone doesn't have Half-Life 2, please speak up. Atomm recently bought it for $9.99, so if you DON'T have it, it is cheap to remedy, and is one HELL of a single-player game. Furthermore, it opens the door to a bunch of other mods we can/have played.

We'll have to think about starting a similar thread for Half-Life 2 mods that I started for Battlefield 2 mods.

I'm trying to talk Bazooka into getting HL2 for FNF.

Did you think it was good enough for a FnF?

If you guys want to do that on Saturday i'll go pick it up no problem. I just need to make sure it'll run on Vista.

I don't think that I can play QWs. It starts to hurt after 15-20 minutes. Not that it should stop you guys. In fact I would encourage you guys to play if you can get a squad together just to see if that helps the teamwork aspect of the game.

I actually was never able to get a key for QW. They always released them when I wasn't near a computer

I doubt Cold, Rambo, or Bazooka got one either. Maybe when they expand the Beta later. . .

Yeah, my current machine is nowhere near the reqs for QW... which is why I am looking to up to a PCIe/C2D system.

You should talk to Lexx. I'm pretty sure he already has that system - C2D means Crash to Desktop, right? 😀

I am thinking more along the lines of Crispy 2 Dumbass...

Though hopefully that will not be the case as I am planning on hijacking a Quadro FX 3500 vcard at the moment...
