So is DDO worth getting back into? The free to play was fine and dandy but it was always lacking for fun. Have they expanded the free to play/added worthwile new pay content?

    http://underdark.ddo.com/

Get the $29.99 expansion, it is a little more than double the content - BUT it starts at level 18 characters and take you to level 25.

There are three NEW pay for expansions in that one now that are separate at about $12 each.
(I name prices as I only bought modules, and no longer the VIP route)

But all in all the Underdark IS really fun and A LOT of content - new worlds, new realms, new story line - well worth the $30

Also once you hit level 20 there are new "epic" levels to your character also which are gained in parallel to your progression from 20 - 25 that make you FEEL like you are the bad ass you wanted to be when you started playing on Korthos island in the beginning.

I might even be talked in to running around again if your interested.

    (Boys ... you in?)

come on sarge I only have 18,000,000,000 xp until I level!!!! That vampire run is worth 12xp!!!

It was cool content, but I just didn't have time to take DDO on as a fulltime job.

Using this thread to ask a question about Ye'Ole'DDO.
Just listening to a podcast - something that I so seldom do now - no play / no listen.

Anyway.... I hear they are adding the new-new and even newer augment system to augment the augments to make them even MORE powerful.
(The gear buffs system that was in House K - is leaving and stones of change will be running augments, not needing guilds to get "good" augments and they are permanent until swapped out - not the 3 day or what not it was before.)

Enhancements are getting totally revamped to be like the epic levels - where you can specialize in your class - or multi-class to be like y our Epic Destiny and add minor-uber to your enhancements.
(YAH! get to re-do the re-do on the Monk ONE-MORE-TIIIIIMEEEEEEEEE, as if it was not hard enough the first two FUBARS)

They are adding heal over time - which will be 30 Min in a healing potions - hell my level 25 maxed single class bard with the healing songs can't do what posts are about to do.
    Nor-Vicodin.

Update 18 (soon) moves level cap to 28 and before U-20 cap moves again to level 30

They are adding a store option so people can go directly to Forgotten realms you will soon be able to buy directly in to level 15 (it might have even been 18) with a store purchase.

VIP - will be getting a +10% (or 20%?) permanent EXP boost through ALL levels (Update 18 adds it) and VIP will not have a death penalty.

    Jumped the shark?
    Power creep?

Appears the game is changing TOO much for my little head to wrap around.

That is all - go back to your regularly scheduled weekend.

So, did you guys finish the Forgotten Realms add on?

    Was it fun?

No - did not finish but we did a lot of the stuff < Level 23. Overall it was fun but the prospect of the incredibly long grind from Level 22 to Level 23 has left me uninterested in continuing. You need some insane number of XP ( a few hundred thousand iirc) and as a non-VIP member you get them in drips and drabs of 8-10,000. This just simply means too many runs were required to keep my attention.

All I can add to that Sarge is Voice +5%, Pots +25%, Shrine 5%,

    10,000 +5% = 10,500 +25% = 13,125 +5% = 13,781
Just had a 4 quest set that dropped ~25K each (first set n the Kings forest)

    25,000+5% 26,250 +25%=32,812 +5%=34,453 x4 = 137,812 exp for about 1 1/2 hours on Vicodin.
(The pug sucked though and they were running all over the damn place... I finally said I pick the Barb... all heals on him, if your not buy him.. your outta luck)
Still it almost completely filled 2 epic "dots" in my bar.

Well, I could be off on my numbers, but at the time it felt like progress gained was much less than progress needed to keep it interesting.

It kind of sucks because I have a bunch of turbine points left but I just can't bring myself to play the game....

I feel your pain - I figured I have so much cash tied up in content purchase it's a shame to not play it every now and again.
Plus it keeps me form getting too mad at WoT some days.
