Be careful when bidding at an auction. I was bidding for these 20 +1 Goblin Bane arrows (at top). Guy kept bidding against me, just a few gold more than me at a time. It was around 150 gold, so I jumped to 200 gold. A few minutes later it shows that I've been outbid. My opponent bid 10x what I did, and ~3.2 times the base value of the arrows. I don't know if he added an extra "0" by accident, or if he was just being a show-off, but I let him have it. He could have had it for 25% of that amount, AFAIC. 😀

And yeah, it told me I was outbid, so it wasn't me that made the mistake. I actually always bid in gold, so I don't have a brain fart and mess up the decimal point. 🙂

You can also see my new toy, my +3 longbow(I only paid like 6,000g for it, not near the 18,000g base price). I decided I didn't have enough punch from a distance, and I don't have the strength attribute to do a lot of good up close, so picked this up, and spent some action points on an enhancement to add +1 to my long/shortbow damage. So, since Monday, I've upped my damage dealing +2 to hit, +3 to damage from arrows.

    So I have:

    +1 Lesser Human Bane Bow
    (1d8+1d6+2) against humans

    +1 Lesser Reptilian Bane Bow
    (2d6+2) against Reptilian races)

    +3 Longbow
(1d8+4) against anything with regular arrows

That should lend the tanks a hand without running thru my spell-points like an SUV uses gas.

As you see above, I'm also trying to pick up some Goblinoid Bane arrows for Friday night. As I understand it, we'll see some Goblin-types then.

Nice caps.... And dang nice bow.... I may have to check out the auction house myself.... A +3 long sword would be nice......

I think it pays to visit the auction a few times a night. Sometimes folks dump stuff at a relatively cheap price, but you have to be the first one to see it that wants it. Also, if you post your better equipment on there for more than you'd get at a vender (10% of the base price) you'll maximize the gold you get from the quests. Only problem is, you can only auction one thing at a time.

I think ppl make mistakes at the auction all the time. Maybe they misplace a decimal place when converting from gold to platinum, and vice-versa. I see things going for 10x what they should. Maybe you can get some items for 1/10th value, if you're sharp and check often. Also, I wonder if folks overprice their merchandise, just hoping that someone will buy it by mistake.

If you're careful, bargains can be had though.

Completed my first SUCCESSFUL raid today.
House Jorasco - Tempest Shrine (Kill a Storm Giant)
I forget the actual EXP but it was in the neighborhood of 30K

    26 Buffs before the fight.
(Hell 26 through the full raid....)

    Storm Giant.

After disband I got an invite not 2 min later for House Kundarak - Vault of Night quests 1 - 4 (6 total)
We were only going to do #1 as a speed run, but we all played so well together we did them for 100% complete.

Then went to 2 then 3 then 4..... The get harder and harder...... We had a VERY experienced player VIP for the last 4 years, she (yes SHE) told us where to go ans what to expect.

Problem was beign the ONLY healer in this party I was alwasys in the rear waiting for the heal bombs and the mobile res shrine..... not a problem really but there was a room that had 8 E I G H T beholders 1 was a named Beholder.... I was like a mile away by party request to keep them alive.... but all in all the EXP and loot was fantastic. All 4 maps got us 40K (5K, 10K, 10K and 25K)

Not Grokin the Named beholder, but I think Vault of Night had a total of 20 Beholders do far in maps 1 - 4

15,295 EXP map 4 on NORMAL.

    KICK ASS.
We all added each as friends and have decided to regroup Wed or Thurs to do the final part maps 5 and 6 - Zendyra tells us quest 6 is a Dragon w00t FTW.

  6. #6
No kidding..... Ducks gonna be level 20 before he's done.....
  7. #7
I promise - I'll try to keep it to only 3 levels in front of the lowest level active guild member.....
SO GET WITH IT PEOPLE -lol

Really I was just online trying to build up the cash to get my next bank tab and someone sent me a tell looking for a Cleric.
Having a Cleric with a name like Vicodiin tends to draw attention and people are starting to remember the name.
So they found me - I figured a good way to make some dough.
  8. #8
Sweet! But my game playing days are number soon. You may have to leave me behind anyway.......

  9. #9
That looks like an incredible quest. We need more people to do that one however.

I wonder how many points in the negative I could get with 8 beholders in a room?
  10. #10
It was like listening to a gun fight over a police scanner - knowing it was just one block over.
You could hear it, you knew it was there, you just could not get there in time or they would not let y ou over there "For your safety."

Listening to "Throw you fire wall there,,, now jump" "jump again go to the left mushroom" OK throw I'll haste then we run to that corner then fire ball" - "Vicodiin I'm incoming for heal a massive in 3, 2 1" then they run back....

Gun fight on the scanner man.
  11. #11
Reminds me of the one Beholder level in the original NWN's on AOL. It was so much fun to do, but you had to do it just right or you got wiped. Imagine doing this with a different random group every time because it was a first in, queue system for the event.....

  12. #12

Ended up playing Tempest Shrine four more times today...... Normal, Hard, Hard, Elite (we all died....) back in on Hard

I was a cranky boy when we went in on #4 but they were looking for Storm Giant armor and I wanted to get to level 11 so we ground it down.... only one set of armor was found, but I got a F&*ck ton of decent loot, so much so that the stuff I had to sell today to make inventory room would have made my cry like a little girl if I sold it last week.

So I made my 150,000 Exp for my next level in 8 hours of play (4 hours yesterday & 4 hours today)

Figured I'd throw a few more close ups of the beholder that I could get close to.

I've put some of the guild members that ran it in my friends list, they'll take us through if were together and there on and were all looking for something to do.

They said they'll also do the full run of Necropolis with us too is and when we want.
I'll wait to level to 11 unless - although I get my mass aid spells at level 11 - Mass cure moderate wounds, mass bulls strength, mass bears endurance, Full heal (instead of DM Heal at 4x a rest - Spell Point full heal is go as log as I have SP (to go with my full resurrection now))

Doc made suggestion to re-open AngryKid (lvl7 barbarian) to give Vicodiin a break, but I'll just not level so we can have a HealBOT on the weekends.

  13. #13
  14. #14
Just a pic I was telling Doc about.
Gweylande last stand, at the point there is 2 fire traps which we left active, added 1 or 2 wiz fire walls and we all lined up using shield block to roast the 8 trolls and 3 bugbear assassins.

Effective communications and good players working together in a very good Pick Up Group.

  15. #15
  16. #16
I will say it was awesome. 3 of us doing a 6 player map, no tanks, 3 squishys
    Vault of Night map 3
We all died about 8 times thank lord we kept dieing in the shrine room....

There was an area with 8 beholders in a single area, ya it was rough.
My repair bill was 13,893 compared to Docs 33K....

Anyway..... another notch.... 14,000 EXP for that little run also.

I'm tired it's 2:07 am (4am for you east coasters..... Sarge look at what you miss......) I/m going to bed.
    Night.
  17. #17
Yeah, I'm pretty sorry to have missed that one 🙄

I miss the 14k, just not the dying....repeatedly.

Sarge wrote:Yeah, I'm pretty sorry to have missed that one 🙄

I miss the 14k, just not the dying....repeatedly.

    It. Was. Epic. EPIC!

A lot of fun, and I really felt like we'd accomplished something at the end. I only got a little permanent nick out of one item, despite the massive dying and damage.
  19. #19
How did you manage 8 Beholders? Wow.....

Doc, what are those rings? I thought you said you had a RoP +4. I didn't think they stacked.

Atomm wrote:How did you manage 8 Beholders? Wow.....

Doc, what are those rings? I thought you said you had a RoP +4. I didn't think they stacked.

They LOOK the same, but are different. Striding ring, and a +4 protection ring.

As for the beholders, well, their strength was their weakness. They took one look at the 3 badasses coming for them and dropped dead from fright. 🙂

    🤣 🤣 🙇 🙇
It was quite an accomplishment now that I've had a few hours of sleep and some time to think about it.
There was that Immortal that we dropped to at the end have never seen one of those up until now either.

Yah it was worth the late hours.

Sarge, Bubba your up next for VoN 1, 2, 3
(Next FnF?) We could roll 1, 2 no issues (Stop whining Paladin they need 2! and we need your Rogue there)

And everyone, I'll go on record as saying Paladin (with Doc's help if I recall) has done a bang up job re-allocating enhancements on Asot. He's turned in to what you'd want your lvl 11 Rogue to be.

Good job Paladin, it really was apparent from watching that he's a new character. Now we need to let you get in before we go.

Um wait one, next FNF is Christmas night..... we taking a pass on 12-25-09 FNF?
  22. #22
I won't be there on Friday night for sure, or Saturday night either for that matter.

Pal did his enhancement reset by himself. I helped him with his equipment a couple weeks back - bonuses to spot, search, etc.

Surely after all that family time on the 24th-25th, Saturday night should be free for gaming at least 🙂

"Hey Skylyx, how do you use the Stone of Change?"

I tried a /r, but the console thought I was replying to Duck's toon Vicodiin, so had to type my response to him twice. Nice guy, glad I could help him out 🙄
  25. #25
Asshat..... AsssssssHaaaaaaat It just rolls off the tongue - it's an immortal word.
Yah you caught it I had to use two I's in Vicodiin - so a brief rundown what are you doing to the Voice of the Master?

And I will Googlefu Stone of Change (I think we have a link here too for it (by you))

Good use of the Christmas spirit Doc - you warm the lump of coal we call my heart!

Yeah, I posted it here already, but for you. . .
    http://forums.ddo.com/showthread.php?t=132855

He pissed me off. I use that link all the time, since I don't use the Stone of Change often enough to remember the rituals, and the little fucker didn't even want to do that much work. I guess he wanted me to climb into his microcephalic skull and rewire the neurons manually.

I'm not doing anything drastic yet with the new toys. I did the binding ritual, which prevents permanent damage and prepares the item for further rituals. Since it's already bound to my character, figure I'll at least keep 'em in good working order(the binding that comes with them doesn't protect them from permanent damage.). I did this to both the cloak and the trinket. I held off on using the soarwoods to add the +1 bonus to saves. The Voice/Worldshaper set is cool, but not sure how long I'll be using them. Depends on how much I like the True Seeing effect. I did a Google and saw folks recommending holding off on the ritual until I get a "Head of Good Fortune" or a greensteel item.

    http://74.125.47.132/search?q=cache:jm2W7u...lient=firefox-a
I would recommend holding off on putting the ritual on the voice and put it on your first GS item, or something else you are always going to wear. There are better trinkets out there and Lightning-Splits are expensive. For instance you can get a Head of Good Fortune and that will be +3 resist

  27. #27
Got'cha that's the page I've been looking at too. I think I'll add to the durability of those items my self.
Also may take my favorite mace and add the 1d4 force damage to it 1d8+5 +1d6 acid + 1d6 good and add 1d4 force....
    [Cartman] Dude that's f-in' sweet[/Cartman]

P.S. I want my Lightning split back.... (grin)

To think of all the prayer beads, toem, tokens I've already pissed away to make room for other "stuff"

    *sigh*
Time to put money in to the portable hole as a massive bag of holding......
    *sigh*

Well Christmas night started out great for Doc Pal and I - 17,599 Exp for ~30 / 45 min worth of outside slayer work was great.

We then started a map in the 12's Vale of Twilight with a kick ass monk (pun HA!) who I've known for a while and a dip shit "I've been with DDO since it's beta I know it all so I'll run a diatribe of who - what - where - when and how" all night long.

But we were on track for a 25K plus Exp map so we 3 decided to go for it as douche bag DID know his poo on this map - we got 2.5 hours in to it then the monk went AFK with no explanation, PAl died and the Monk ran off to get his stone which would have taken another 30 - 45 min to get back to his stone (long way back up) and we were going back there again with in another 30 min so we got the monk squared away and back with us, I had a nutty on game comms about how F-d up this all was, Pal felt like crap for dieing (which Doc and I kept telling him to not worry about - It's a game and were a team - we look out for each other before the other PUG members)

Any ways - were 30 min to completion then back for Pal then to the end reward, Monk pulls too much agro, D-Bag since Beta goes quiet, and all 4 of is go real dead real quick...... loss of all exp and 2.5 hours..... got some mad loot but the Exp and time wasted is a bummer.....

So anyways..... While having a know-it-all seeing eye human that knows the maps like his own back yard, is not always a plus.

I received a Guild Sigil from him to drop GRB and join his group - I go to their web page and see this on the home page -

We are a social guild and need very little drama in it

And then not 1/3 of the page down there is a bold headder on a front page sticky -

We are considering those members that are found to be playing with or leaving toto join that guild to be trash, and noone is to run with the guild "Knights of the Dragonlance". They aren't getting anything more from us and members will be dropped if found to be playing with them

OMG how the hell is that NOT drama.

I love me some Bubba and GRB......small but still tight.
  29. #29
Dang, that's amazing..... I kind of hate how XP is only given upon completion. I didn't figure that out until recently.

BTW, I still think we need a few more key players to round out the guild.

  30. #30
    13 Tool bars.

    16 swords
    4 maul
    1 club
    5 Bows
    2 Archer feats
    8 Player modes
    4 Potions
    3 Wands
    21 Spells
    4 Scrolls
    3 Belts
    4 Boots
    3 Goggles
    2 Bracers
    4 Necklaces
    3 Robes
    2 Gloves
    5 Rings
    2 Trinkets
    4 Bags
    4 Robes
    2 Quivers
10 Things I'm not familiar with

    (And he's got mail..)

  31. #31
Holy poop.. I was running 13 toolsbars last week....at work amazing how 5 confounds me in game.
  32. #32
That's a lot of real estate. Gotta be at least a 22" screen, if not larger. I may have to rethink my own layout.....

  33. #33
    Over worked and under paid.
Spawn of Whisperdoom, lvl 11 House P killed everything but her.... apparently all that kills her is fire, and she has a DR of 15/-

Me as a melee, a cleric and a rogue (I knew there were chests that needed a rogue) a ranger left in the middle and so did a barbarian at the end fight when we could not damage her.

We bounced after three tries (no deaths) and just could not do more than 3 - 10 points of damage and she heals herself like a lvl 10 cleric....
    Pisser.
Although I did get a trinket that gives FS 300 SP addition and has a spot of +12

    Check out the kill counts.

  34. #34
Wow. Sucks that you didn't finish it though. Would a flaming sword count as fire?
  35. #35
I had one - but it was a 1d6 Scimitar adding 1d6 flame - her DR was 15/ so even a full hit was 12 points I still needed at least another 4 dam to hit her for 1 hp.... with that combo

Found my Icy Burst scimitar of Magical beast bane 1d6 + 3d8 +2d6 and my +4 Transmuting scimitar of pure good 1d6 + 2d6 +4 combo worked the best, but I was still only doing 10- 15 dam and like I said she was healing like crazy.

Maximized firewall 90 pts dam per sec would have been the trick.
  36. #36
    What a P-I-T-A this was.
The area was smokey so the pics are slightly blurry loot MEH we were going it on normal but there are about 5 piles of gold and platinum (Middle picture Dragon is standing on pile of gold/plat) which you get about 5K plat.

The third pic is the Beholder map where you have to drink them under the table to start the acid trip map - I can't figure out if I liked the map - but we should do it at least once.
(I think they went with the Alice in Wonderland trip type quest for the map)
Need to run a loop sound track of Jefferson Airplane when we play it......

  37. #37
Beholders sound interesting..... Nice to see some personality in the game.....
  38. #38
    Bubba Mired in Kobolds

  39. #39
I loved the quest we ran Friday... where suddenly.... doh... there is a beholder!!!
  40. #40
So I couldn't wait for the second shard of power.
This is one of my two Scimitars - tier 1 is the Holy burst
Tier 2 is the Acid and Stone skin (which I did not know would be on it - but the +150 HP is kick ass)
Tier 3 will add Acid blast 4d10 and changes the multiplier from x2 to x4 and also add earth grab on criticals and Metaline.

All I need is that damn Shard of power to add the above Tier 1 and 2 to my other raw GS Scimitar.
Was going to go Shocking Blast / Shocking Burst for other... but to tell the truth - I like matched pairs....
    Call me a fashionable.

  41. #41
I'll give you 1,000 PP for it! ;-)
  42. #42
Holy crap that is one badass weapon. It will take me months to get all of the ingredients necessary to make a GS weapon 🙁
  43. #43
Knowing what I know now - I would have not purchased some of the ingredients from the AH - in each recipe there is a single item that binds on acquire - knowing that now - going forward I'd say quest and collect until you get the number (usually 2 some times 3) bind on acquire items - then AH the items you are missing - and I think you'll find you have all you need with out spending a dime (Yah the first one was costly.... but it's play money)

I find I have 3x or 4x the ingredients so I may make another pair or a Great Sword for BBender (doubtful) or just keep them handy for who ever here needs that last twig or funk....
Rather help you all than make something I may just back pack.

After the second scimitar I need to put some thought in to what clothing item I'm going to craft - I know somewhere there is a recipe for an item that gives 75 ~ 200 spell points back to you when you get hit... nice to have for a caster/fighter.

  44. #44
For what it's worth - got that last shard of power today - not dropped to me but won by a roll from some nice dude that did not need one.... w00t.

Now I take a break from running Shroud material for a while.
  45. #45
Sweet congrats! I finished my rares and explorers in VOT
  46. #46
    Cool good for you!
Now we work on the 5 quests out there to get everyone flagged for Shroud - so I can impose a finders fee on all your large ingredients drops.....
  47. #47
    Quest Bastion of Power:

3 killer loot drops: - and NOT the one people are looking for.... damn.

    Damn (x2)
Replaced the Con +6 belt I had with Ann's for the undead guard - Atomm the Ann's pair would be awesome for your Paladin - as if I recall your taking the path Hunter of the Dead.

Been looking for a Smedgar's Necklace - now I know why I could not find in AH - binds on acquire (they all do) in the chests.
That replaces my need to bounce between Sup. Potency sword and Green Steel swords when I want to cast.... one less clicky - plus it add 300 SP so now I drop the robe of Magi and keep the Icy rainments on all the time....

    (happy dance)
  48. #48
    Less clicky = more better

    Those are some nice pieces.
  49. #49
    Sweet!!!!!
  50. #50
Yea, that belt and matching item would be sweet!

How did you come across that?
  51. #51
    The Wilderness area is called Amarath lvl 19 - 24 (24 ! ? )
Like Merida there are 5 quests that drop 5 rare ingredients - this quest Bastion of Power drops a rare bowl of Damon blood - which the guys I was with were farming for.

I was the n00b of the party and was just in to see it and get exp. - the loot was (to me) awesome - to them standard fare - as they were looking for the blood

It appears in the 5 quests you get the components to make a pair pf boots that let you in to a raid called Devils tower: Hall of the third legion.

With out the boots on first - it's a banish / fail / death kind of affair for those with out the boots.
(looking in to the boots now to figure out what they are.)

Speaking of new areas - did you all know that there is a re-opened area in the Harbor called the Inspired Quarter?
There are 5 - 7 new quests there also.
Top of the stairs by the trainers up by Durks got a secret - those gates right there past Durk.
Go in - get quests - die.

    fun fun fun
  52. #52
You are a mean mean man! 😛
  53. #53
The boots you make are called Boots of Anchoring.

The Boots do bind and have no other stats than Anchoring - which makes you immune to Haste, Displacement, and Banishment. This item is used to prevent yourself from getting banished at Tower of Despair raid, Horoth end fight.

Immunity to Haste and Displacement can be bypassed by putting them off, getting buffs then putting them back - Boots don't dispell those buffs that you already have. Level18+ to wear.

    More info here:
    http://forums.ddo.com/showthread.php?t=199571

Interesting comment about the boots and the raid:
Since they do take away you haste, and displacement on equip, they are well worth it. As some may know as some may not, inside of the new raid, General Horoth (The Main Raid Boss) is able to Banish you (your on thier relm, so you will end up in, House D.,House K., House J., House P., The Marketplace) So this will end your chance at getting any loot or, rewards from the quest.(No way to get back in, unless restart). So for fighters that will melee, these will be a necessary item.

Cool we're the invaders and if he lands banishment on us we get tossed back to or plane - back in the houses or Market..... cool twist.

    - Gonna craft my green steel items to tier 3
    - Gonna run Shroud 20 times to get the c lensing fluid so I can craft and wear a second green steel item.
    - There are some other crafting items from like Gianthold that I may go back and make
    - There is a bunch of lvl 20 content that is now open
    - In the way back - thinking of True Resurrection (but do not understand how it works yet)

Dduck the Ranger is who I've decided to work on next - he appears to have more positive impact on the party than Bbender.

Duck, if you were only able to make Durrzo a single level of Monk, would it have impacted you any? I'm considering wiping Atomm back to Level 1. I can't erase 1 level of Paladin, so I would only be able to do a single level of Monk with 18 levels of Favored Soul. Would that be a problem??

  60. #60
Yes you need two levels of Monk to get Evasion - then your limited to light armor to allow evasion to work.

FS need Charisma for Spell points and Spell selection level and Wisdom for spell penetration to overcome enemy spell resistance.

Monks evasion applies to their armor class - that's why my AC jumped 13 points when I went from medium armor to robes.
Wisdom and Dexterity raise your monks AC.

Rogues also get Evasion at level 2 so some FS go two levels of Rogue but their AC is not enhanced by evasion.

If you splash Monk then you can look for Chaos guard bracers +2 dodge bonus, Chattering ring +4 dodge bonus, Icy Raiment robe, +4 dodge - all stack on monk AC

    Here is (long) Durrzos map.

Now remember - I HAD to be Elf to get the pluses to Hit and Damage with Scimitars.
    - Just checked your an Elf also (some reason thought you were Human) - so you could be a Child of the Undying Court - Scimitars (Elf)
Child of the Silver Flame - Long bow (all races)
Child of the Sovereign Host - Long Sword (all races)
There are two other "Children" one for Drow only and one for War Forged only.

Not a big thing - but spell are hard to change - you chose spells on level and if you want to change them it is one spell change per 3 days and each level of spell costs about 15,000 gold - chose wisely.

    Now that I wrote a book - and really did not answer the ? - here is a 17 FS/ 2 Rogue / 1 Fighter (you'd be 1 Pal)

Looks pretty good - and he says the evasion is a real boon to him - which I totally agree.

Like I said somewhere else - decided on GS goggles "Triple negatives" for the protection.
Need one more component (x2) and will have third tier ready to craft.

Last tier will give me Deathblock and Destruction - where on every attack the attacker must roll against fort or be instantly destroyed (like the spell) on every attack!

Not really - I've seen some really tough ass'd Pally's that can turtle up and take a real beating tank style.... then pass out resurrections - in fact tonight Bubba and I ran Gianthold TOR with a lvl 20 Pal and he was tough - not the toughest but he was real good.....

All depends what you want out of your Pally - if you want to make changes - we can get you all sorts of good stuff....

Bubba did a reconfigure of his Cleric a month or so ago and he's bad assed now.
  71. #71
Picked up one of these last night in Gianthold TOR

I can't tell you how bad I wanted one of these for Vicodiin (R.I.P. *sniff*) - I popped it on Dduck and only my int and cha raised by +2 - no movement with the other stats.....
So it's not an overall +2 from the globe - it's anything that does not have a +2 tome or a higher "+" item already equipped.

As my gloves are +6 str, and belt is +6 con the +2 from the globe did not mean squat.....
I am SOOOOOO glad I did not spend the ~7 mil gold for one of these back in the day......

Off to the auction house - for some unsuspecting - er - low level toon.

Lightning II Green Steel Longbow Tier 3 Complete!
    Lit_II.JPG

The crafting recipe did not mention that it also adds +11 modifier to my Dex for my attack rolls.
Pretty amazing to have the +795 random Lighting Strike proc with a +500 Slaying arrow that throws in 4d6 Good and another 2d20 Electric and another 1d6x20 Electric.

Leveled both the Rare Earth Elemental and the Rare Devil in the Vale trying it out had not even tripped Many Shot.
  73. #73
    Dang, that bow is awesome.

So, how do I get one of these in a Scimitar version? :-)

  74. #74
Reference other post... Shroud crafting Green Steel items.
Dduck is now in the process of crafting two matching Scimitars just like the bow...
  75. #75
I need to finish my bracers and start my heavy mace.
  76. #76
Does crit bonuses apply to the extra damage modifiers?

    Now that would be cool.

  77. #77
Yes they apply also and any clicky spelly type of damage amplification also...
Green Steel it the IT thing.
  78. #78
I hit a 180 last night. Still not your 500+ hits, but getting better.

I think I see a few places I can improve as I level. Need level 4 spells. Get them in 2 levels. Then, it's a matter of adding a few higher enhancements.

  79. #79
Remember also - (to some extent) we're 3 and 6 levels above you - (although Sarge's Touch of Death became available at level 9 for 500 HP of dam.)

Dduck needed to be 18 to get Slaying arrows (500HP) and started crafting his Green Steel bow at level 12 and did not get all the necessary ingredients until level 20 which procs those nasty (but cool looking) 795 HP Storm Reaver lightning strikes.

Durrzo has no Uber weapon just lightning speed coupled with two Tier Two Green Steel scimitars - (Acid/Acid on both) and big hitting Blade Barriers, Comet Fall, Implosion and Destruction.
His swords only do about 35 - 75 per swing, but they beat every bosses DR/- in game and like I say - his attacks per round make up for hard hits as there just so damn many of them.

Is there some Paladin special that comes along at level 18 or so? Other option is Green Steel crafting, you know you want to..... Yah yah do......
  80. #80
Ran reavers today (The Gianthold one) and came away with this:

Also does anyone have 2 Ancient Dragon Relics for Gianthold free? I have 20/20/18

    I might
  82. #82
Dduck pick up this armor from Mindsunder toady - I like it a lot compared to what I was running.

And then ran ADQ1 and 2 and picked up these gloves.... good but not great as I have to take off my +6 strength gloves and that drops my added strength bonus to my arrow damage......

But good up close and personal with the thorn guard 1d8 piercing damage... or if I'm going toe to toe with archers like in the gnoll quest in the Vale with the Piercing / Arrow / Spear DR 10/Bludgeon, Slash

  83. #83
Jun Ran hound and VoD today and picked up these two items

    Hound:

    VoD:

My AC drops by 10 for some reason when I change from Icy to Enlightened, but I like that it turns my fists in to banishers, so I can run Smiting wraps with Banishing clothes out in Vale and not have to bounce between one or the other......

I keep Icy on every where else.
  84. #84
Dang, that last one is freaking cool.....

  85. #85
    The grind is OVER!!!!!
Jun ran 5 more Shrouds this morning - first two same group - lag kill 10 of 12 in Harry fight one.
Recall reform could not make it past a 5x5 - some tard off audio kept futzing up the puzzle.... we recalled and /rage quit

Run three - dismal group also did not get past Harry round one.

Run four - another new group - cool Barb named Math just handed me the shard of power... no one wanted it or know me enough that they as a group decided to just gift it to me.... sweet but then we had 4 people either quit after Harry fight one and not go to completion or lost connection - same group reforms w/ foru new players and we finally completed.

So I finally have my Tier 1, 2, 3 GS +45 HP cloak /w Earth grab guard and Stone Ele pet.

The cap came out like poo - but yours truly tanked Xy'zzy - when it cam down to it I had a better AC and HP than the rest.....

Remembered to have equipped my solid fog clicky - pulled her, went to Mt stance, stone skin, shadow fade, shadow walk ad just stood there letting her gnaw on me.... while the healers kept me alive..... interesting perspective on Hound, and nice to know I can Tank it - with out knowing I was a Tank.

Monk = Tank ?!?!?! What is this world coming too when the cloth wearers can take a beating. For all the Plate Armour wearers you just kicked out of our jobs, I say......
  90. #90
455 HP and 53 AC unbuffed
501HP and 61 AC buffed (64 when a pal stands near me)

Go figure..... I'd have never thought it either. But when the leader said how's got the best HP/AC combo...mine won! (?)
And I lived to tell the story.... so it worked.... was fin - different than being in the beat down party....

Still working on the re-vamp of Ian the Bard (level 11) decided to stay Warchanter as WC level II is next level (12) and I gain 1 free martial weapon proficiency - so I'm going to use Great swords (taking all of Bbenders great swords) AND they also now gain Medium Armor proficiency (all Bards are only Light armor or robes) so I can take Codexxxs Mythral plate armor (classed as Medium) so I can move my armor bonus from +6 to +13......

Found this Great sword on AH - how they got by the binds on equip.... who cares, mine now and banked to when I get to level 12 (60K more EXP)

You know how much I LOVE the Wounding scimitars Durrzo/DDuck use - and the wounding of puncturing bow Dduck has - I thought it was cool that a non puncturing sword had both.
Also interesting is that all other puncturing weapons (Deamon Fever on the sword) are an extra 1d6 Constitution damage on crit and this is 1d8)

To bad it's names I'd throw Icy Burst on that bastard in a New York minute and call me bad ass.

Though I will bind and attune and put the Force ritual on it for kicks.
Now have to wait to see what Turbine is going to do with the fusible feature - update 8 maybe.

  93. #93
Ran the Chronoscope raid on Elite just now - picked up not 1, not 2, not 3 but 4

  94. #94
That seems eminently useful. If you have items from multiple sets do you see the benefit of each set that you complete?

May have to run that one. I am pretty sure I have at least one if not two of the items on that list.
  95. #95
As far as I know they stack, so if you have Bracers of X, Helmet of Y and boots of Z with the Gem of Many Facets - Item propertied of X, Y, Z all apply to the character.

Also the cool thing is that the other items you need for the Gem are all gathered on the Korthos island quests - so pop back there and do the beginner quests for the other parts.

Check out the Epic version of the Gem.

    http://ddowiki.com/page/Epic_Gem_of_Many_Facets

    _ _ _ Side note _ _ _

Was thinking this morning - (ouch) - how hot and bothered people get over Monks Holy burst of Stunning +10 wraps, and how impossibley hard they are to find, well at level 12 you can purchase a Holy Burst (insert your weapon choice here) for your main hand and a (insert your weapon here) of stunning +10 in your off hand.

For Codexxx I'm thinking of a Holy Burst Great Pick and a Heavy mace of Stunning +10 pair - both level 12 so I have a little time to research, but with a Paladins Holy Smite or Exalted Smite is a spell type of "Auto-critical" on next swing clickie - using a Heavy pick because it's the only weapon type in game that has a X4 critical multiplier.

    Stay tuned.

Man they have added some seriously great loot since we left Sarge.
I've tanked Zyzzxx on hard difficulty in Hound my self on Jun - they've added these wraps.....

    damn

They are basically Green Steel hand wraps (as wraps STILL can not be crafted)

Basically they are Green Steel wraps - as you still can not craft wraps.

    Damn here I go again.......
  102. #102
Sorry for the double post .... first one was showing up as not viewable.... now I make the internal upload and the first shows......

    ugh.
  103. #103
Those would have been sweet a year ago.......those things are badass.

Turbine seem to have come up with a decent solution to the inability to craft handwraps by putting these (and others?) in the game.
  104. #104
    Damn.....

I still need to come up with some sort of macro or macro program to fire off all four of my paladin strikes in a row. So much easier than trying to click the darn things.

  105. #105
There are a bunch of named wraps now doing all sorts of things - heck I found those wraps because someone posted up a thread on how a Paladin with a 2 level splash of monk was the top killer in a quest and never once took his sword out..... He used those wraps....

The new Alchemical crafting (Level 19.....) puts weapon effects on wraps -

    http://ddowiki.com/page/Alchemical_Crafting

notice that it is basically two sets of Green Steel effects on a single weapon, AND you can mix acid with electricity or any two you want if you want a boss beater and a trash mob beater in a single weapon.

Atomm - Turbine is working on adding macros in game - Lord of the Rings has it now and players love it - DDO is getting it someday.
  106. #106
to add to the thread - the new content - Attack on Stormreach has added "fusible malleable" weapons.

As you know I love the Constitution damaging weapons, and the Blade of Fury drops in them (Got one!)

    http://ddowiki.com/page/Fusible

    The fusible portion can be:
Vengeful: 10% for you to get Barbarian rage
Crippling: Enemy movement and attacks slowed by 50%
    Maiming: Extra 3-18 per crit
Vampirism: You gain 1d3 hit points each time your swords hit.

Going for the Vampirism as I solo all the time..... (so lonely so so lonely in game.... *sniff*) the return of hit points every hit will be great - and when I craft Green Steel (one more level!) I'll craft a concordiant op with greater regeneration (+2 hp every 10 seconds) earth grab guards.

Notice the new crafting is based on that Mabar Night and the Unraveling Enchantments crafting we did on the Monk bracers.... not the Green Steel gathering style.

    http://ddowiki.com/page/Cauldron_of_Sora_Katra

Much much better. Get this, get that, get a mark or two from an end chest (typically 80% drop rate) so you can get the goods with out 20 runs.

Turbine is getting better at what there doing.

All just the schnizit a *sniff* solo player needs to stay alive.

  107. #107
Tell me this wasn't an agonizing list of rewards.....

  108. #108

Well, Hadaka said he was out Friday. I might be able to go a few rounds after the kiddo hits the sack. Got room for a level 14?

  110. #110
Yeah as I remeber I had the same, but needed the cleansing cloth more than a +3 tome of wisdom
  111. #111
Honestly that is the list for every 20th run of Shroud.
I took the cleansing so I could make 2 wearable GS items.

Some reason Risia Ice games are on today..... so I figured what the hell - made a pair of Icy Burst - Holy Burst - +4 Scimitars of Pure good, - need to find a few more Drowshrood's to add Force Critical to them.

Also changed a feat on Dduck to Improvide Critical Slashing which doubles the Scimitars critical range - now he crits from 14 - 20 - lots of Big-O-numbers floating around now...

    Sarge..... your the best....

Atomm - I don't mind at all I play now more out of fun then getting to levels - less stress that way to play *solo* *sniff* and just see if you can complete a quest that is 3 levels above your class solo *sniff* or with a hireling.

Add you, Bubba, Sarge, Joe we'll have room for a single hireling healer and we all can run level 10 - 14 stuff for grins.

Up to them really. But I'm good.

I see your words, but all I read is "Blah, Blah, Balh, I'm a dirty whore".

    ...that is all.

(PS I have been reading this thread, but as I don't play DDO only follow about 1/4 of it, but felt i should put in my $0.02)
  113. #113
LOL no problem there - as we all have our own say...

    2 explanations follow:

The above - Icy Burst - Force burst.....
Once every 6 months they change some of the areas to Winter time - they have games people play to collect "stuff" some stuff is exclusive that you can then put on weapons to give it extra properties.
1st level 1 point of cold damage
    2nd level 1-6 points cold
3rd level 1-6 points cold and then on a critical hit (depending on yor weapon and build) a natural 20 or like mine 14-20 adds another 3-18 points cold damage "burst on top of the 1-6

Then the mushrooms, beads, research notebook pages you collect in the maps can be added to weapons to give other properties... Force burst - adds 1-4 points of force damage to a weapon on a critical hit....

Basically I'm stacking 4 different types of damage on top of the weapons natural ability.

Force, Cold, Cold bust, Good and Holy

    Grenn Steel:
Long story about the system of creating specific damage type weapons from the upper character levels in game.

You can wield 2 weapons and wear one item - belt, necklace, cloak etc.
But iif you equip 2 wearable items belt, necklace, cloak etc.made of Green Steel you start to take damage from them unless you cleanse them - you can only get the cleansing fluid as a end reward item from a high level raid (12 players not 6) once every 20 runs of the raid (Shroud - or the 13th apocalypse which is its real name)

You need to finish the quest for it to tick off on your way to 20 - but once you finish it you are on a 3 1/2 day timer before you can repeat the quest.

    Clear as mud?

Wow, is Hadaka really Bubba's other alter ego. You know, other than Fruityass?

I use this statement on a daily basis!!! Atomm, please, please can we keep him?
  116. #116
Well, we haven't ran him off yet. That's a plus.

Bubba, You sure you aren't schizophrenic? (side note, I spelled that correct on the first try. Woohoo!)
  117. #117
17 runs on Seig Breaker - looking for ONE STINKING sigil - 5 chests and an end reward
ONE HUNDRED AND TWO chances to get ONE FARKING sigil.

    I got dick!

Feel like Sarge farming for that Goat Head a year or so back.
    It's killing me.

I'm getting all sorts of drops of the unique chain loot, some rare loot, the other sigils but NOOOOOOOO think I could pull the one I really need to upgrade -
  118. #118
Move along little Donkey..... Keep chasing that carrot on a stick..... 😈
  119. #119
Have to..... hit ransack so that quest will offer NOTHING - exp or loot of any kind for the next 8 days.

Friday Feb 17 - or I can farm it with the other toons that can live through it and should I get it - maybe go VIP for a month so I can unlock shared bank and pass it off that way.

Need to see what's on Junn anyway -
  120. #120
Off of ransack today (long 8 days) first run first chest got that fraking crest I needed....
made the Fury blade, added Force critical cuz' I could.

Funny - finally got everything I needed to make it and I'm one quest form running Shroud - and have enough for a Tier 3 Earth Grab Great sword and a con cord op goggle with 300SP all ready.

Meh still nice to see them take all that con damage and and procing all the +1/+3 heath return per hit - sure does free up healing SP when soloing - throw on mantle of world shaper for extra HP regen...... getting very self sufficient.
(almost makes me want to get a Superior (+2 Hp per 15 sec) Standard (+2 HP per 30 sec) Lesser (+2 HP per min) Green Steel item add world sharper and Fury sword..... may not need con cord op ....

Bah - just showing it off for the sake of hey look at this!

    I think it was karma....
I say I don't like the Paladin enough to keep playing one.
    I delete the toon.
    I pull this.

    Divine_Vengeance.png

    DAMN IT!
If I pull another one (Vision of Destruction - HARD) so I could create a dual wield Paly - I might consider TR'ing Ian for these bad ass toys.
    maybe....
  122. #122
That's pretty cool, but does it come in a Scimitar version? :-)

  123. #123
Nope - and look at the Min level - which I realized was 18 - long way to go for a sword or two.

Might be OK is you splashed with a level or two of Pali for LOH or some such thing but to build around (now) might be a stretch - though you don't know what will work in the new expansion.

Its banked. Too nice to let go of -

    Background:
Working on getting 20 Black Dragon scales for the WF Arti by level 14 to get the Docent.
Found a ridiculously low price scale on the AH had about 5 min left on the sale.

    Bid, instantly out bid.... hmmm......
Waited 4 min - bid then out bid, bid, out bid......
Waited 45 seconds (long damn wait too....)
Bid, WON (snipe!) then look at the listing time it went from 3 seconds to:

Better set a reminder in Outlook, might be hard to remember that far out.
  126. #126
Didn't get a screen shot - but just ran an elite shroud on Ian and the requisite was "Blue bars only - zerg"

Everyone had SP - every one pretty much was on their own, no waiting, no buffing - Just run and keep your Blue Bar full!

Was fraking amazing for an Elite Shroud!
  127. #127
Pulling Jun out of bank status as he has the most amount of favor - I've decided he's going to be my favor mule to get to 3,000 favor to unlock Vet level 7 status (start any new character at level 7)

In re-equipping I've manage to get two "bound to character" items off the AH.

Add to that the green steel earth grab cloak, phantasmal killer necklace, fabricators gauntlet (+10% mele speed) - he's like a little proc-generator....

I'm now on a grind quest for a robe that would just be killer... (yuk yuk) for a monk

Funny to agro all the mobs and then just watch the light show now.

Going to create one more GS proc item for a necklace slot.
    Corrosive Salt
    Freezing Ice
    Magma Surge
    Crushing Waves
    Incineration

    Just not sure which one....
  128. #128
you get all the cool toys! I swear that the only time I pick up really good stuff like that, it's bound to character...on the character that can use it the least.

Reminds me that I need to start thinking about what to craft for my green steel item(s)
  129. #130
Was strange - but cool - running around Kings Forrest with...

He had a LFM for guide to finding the explorer points.
Gotta give the kid points for never leaving - and having an empty air ship - year after year after year

He looks like a French Whore in a clown costume though...
  130. #131
Wow... thought that was one of your toons. Didn't he join never to be seen again?
  131. #132
Oh no... he plays weekly - chugging along - all alone - he's level 22 Monk light now.
We found him in the Vale when we all had our first go-round toons when we were working up to our FIRST level 20 characters.

I do know ha has other characters in other guilds, so its not like he doesn't know what to do or when / where / how to leave.

he just plugs along on his Monk.

I should send him a tell some day letting him know he deal... someday...
  132. #133
LOL Ballsy little bastard, told me he was here to stay in GRB - and said if we were in other guilds now - he wanted the guild leader token.

What we could do is make him an officer - and he could drag his friends in to GRB - with us having control should it go stupid... but who knows. He may make a dent with friends in the Guild XP.

    Thoughts?
  133. #134
Wow told him it's OK for him to leave and his reply was ... No I like GRB - there great guys and they helped me so much when I was new in the game - I feel I owe them my support and to stay in the guild keeping it alive.

He is interested in becoming an ossiffer to recruit and build the guild.
  134. #135
Make him an officer. Can't hurt....
