Seems like we need a spot to share with the group all of those small tips/hints that people have learned during the time we've spent playing this game.
Switching your active toolbar can be done by using "Ctrl + #" where # = the toolbar number. You can scroll through them using the + and - keys as well.
Locking your toolbar to avoid dragging stuff out of it is "Ctrl + ="
You may need to check your locks each time you log on as there is a bug that seems to unlock them when you log off. I believe that there is a setting in the UI that allows you to lock the position of the toolbars as well. I'll add it here if I dig it up.
Locking your inventory items in the inventory panel.
Open inventory. Click on item to highlight. In bottom Right corner just off the inventory window is a small lock icon. Click icon to lock item in inventory. When done correctly you will now see a small yellow locked lock in the bottom right corner of the item your trying to secure.
By doing this, you'll never inadvertently trade or sell that item. And when you go the the Inn to sell and repair, locked items do not show up in the SELL window, so less things to scroll through and also inadvertently sell.
#1 Main menu Options UI Settings Lock short cut items to short cut bar (Off by default) (second check box down - same as Sarges "Ctrl + =")
#2 Main menu Options Game play Quest end rewards based on class (Off by default) (Doc - may be not checked for you, as your getting End rewards for War Forged players)
#3 In game - in a PUG when someone has an item from a chest or at repair and sell that they can't use or no longer want and more than one person would like it when they put it up for "Who wants a ..." and they say to be fair - roll for it. Here's what you do:
In the box where you type chats or party info, what you type is /Roll 1d10 (or /Roll 1d4 - what ever the dice is specified - typically its 1d10) The return will look like: You roll a 7 (1d10) the players you are rolling against you will see: GRB Rolled a 4 (1d10) Sarge Rolled a 9 (1d10)
All of this is displayed in the Chat / party window so everyone can see the outcome. So - on an in game roll Sarge rolled highest and should get the item.

Does the CLASS setting also work for RACE? I thought class meant wizard, rogue etc.
I just checked, that is checked off for me, so I dunno why I got Warforged stuff.
Good info on the dice rolls, good to be informed in advance.
Atomm wrote:Let me get this straight. I can tell it to give me items specific to my class? Oh man, why haven't we found this earlier.......
Yes - I think it's for your Paladin - not your Human or your Elf (Add docs replay too)

Checked off as in NO Check in box or Checked off as in YES check in the box? NOT having a check in the box I think it means a greater chance of random items possibly showing for you.
(I realize this is rudimentary explanations - but it's one of those No / Know ambiguities)
Anyways IDK if it IS checked - I would think that its never a 100% assurance of getting class specific items all the time. So maybe you get a higher than average chance to get specific goodies (maybe >65% as opposed to <50%) Maybe that's why you I got WF booties at the end of the raid.

Checked as in, "Yes I want things specific to my class."
Had another one I wanted to add. If for some reason you complete a quest and Finish is still grayed out, and you can't leave the quest and you don't want to go back and find the missing chest or room you did not get to complete you can always type
/death
You will die like in a map, and you will have repair costs, but you will be out of the quest. You then can go back to the quest giver and get the end quest reward.
You will meet many monsters that have some form of damage reduction. Skeletons for instance are resistant to damage from slashing and piercing weapon, but take full damage from bludgeoning weapons.
Zombies are resistant to piercing and bludgeoning weapons, but vulnerable to slashing weapons. So having one or two sickles for zombies is also a good idea.
Something I was talking with Atomm about - you may not be overly proficient with them but find your self a good +3 or greater quarter staff, while it's a two handed weapon and you'd lose your shield bonus, two handed weapons hit all enemies that are in it's arc of swing - every swing.
I use the example of a skeleton mob - with a sword or mace you only hit one of the monsters out of the "8" in the mob each swing. With a Q staff you hit all "8" in the mob - you my not have great damage but it keeps them all at bay and you have less overall work to do.
If your proficient with 2 handed - you can go with a great club, Q-Staff, or your favorite sword.
Yea, I've switched to a Great Sword for fighting mobs for this exact reason. It's amazing how much of a difference it makes when fighting a lot of monsters.

Cosmetic only but hey.... who does not like eye candy?
To change text color in chat or in a Bio use the following <rgb=#FF0000>"message"
So you can go from this in a Bio

By adding <rgb=#00CCFF>No Bubba....<rgb=#FFF00>Prison Guard<rgb=#00CCFF>With you....
Shows quest timers - some raids have 3 day timers and /quest will display in your General tab time left to wait before you can re-run the raid.
/quest completions
Shows the number of times you have run specific raids - like the Shroud on your 20th completion one of your rewards is cleansing oil - which will clean one of your Green Steel wearable items so you can craft and wear two (or more) at a time.
Hound has things and SoS also has things a specific times you run them..... You miss your time window.... you go to the next multiple of that timer.
So miss 20th run reward of Shroud for cleansing oil.... the next time it's offered is on the 40th run. 60 - 80 - 100..... and there is a 3 day wait between runs on these raids..... 20 runs 60 days - 2 months...... weeeeee I lover the grind.
OK we've talked about it but have never proven one way or the other if favor stacks or is just additive for the additional favor from Normal to Hard to Elite.
Example: Normal - 3 Favor Hard - 6 Favor Elite - 9 Favor
Is the total 18 favor or a total of 9
The answer is 9
I did not have Sunken sewer. I started with 1369 favor it produced the above favor 3, 6 and 9 After Normal I had 1372 After Hard I had 1375 After I had Elite 1378
So we are not losing any favor by entering on Hard or Elite.

Yah know - I've tried to figure out how to get that damn sheet to work - but has the dumb when it came to get it to work.
And while I have that toon over on Sarlona - all my real kids are staying on Argo - I only have 3 capped that I play and am not so IN TO shroud runs that I need to think about who's where.....
Really for me - the most fun is leveling not the cap. But I do know a lot of people do like and use that ap....
I'm more interested in the Pack Rat utility which logs and categorizes your inventory across characters and servers. I'm for ever saying "Oh wait - I have one of those - don't buy it I'll give you one. And then spending 30 to 45 min logging on and off toons looking for the magical shiny turd I said I had to give away.
Pack Rat will solve all that by telling me who has what and where in bank or account.
ummm... maybe if they fix packrat so that you dont have to sit there and do screen caps of your entire inventory it would appeal to me. If that is happening then giggity! If not.... meh...
Kitika wrote:See, thats part of why i like the raid/epic spreadsheet. You put in your forum name, you plug in your toons.. and click a button.
......and get a return that says data table error..... so you reinstall the software and YES you get rid of the data table error BUT then get nothing but a blank Excel sheet - 🤦 You take it off the PC and never look back because you have 3 toons and /quest still works in game.
Here is my guess... to fix.. if you want... go to myddo, and check that your toons are public. If you are anon or anything the sheet wont work. Second thing is to make sure that on the very top you have put in your ddo forum name. Under that you plug in the name of the toons that you want to track. Only write in the boxes that have green text saying "character 1" etc. Then on the bottom of the sheet is the update button.
Yeah this is of no use if you are only on one server, and only have one capped toon. If you are like my-panda-man-Walt and have like 15 capped toons that are constantly running epics and raids its super useful.
Have a bunch of those Antique Bronze Tokens picked up in Sands? Go to the turn in place out there Masei Imports and turn in for what ever - and the bottom selection in each category will be Guild Experience tokens - choosing the higher value items from the vendor DO NOT guarantee a higher guild EXP token.
On the lowest Bronze Token turn in I've twice received the 3,000 GXP token.
