Well I'm starting to get a handle on GS crafting - and am not quite sure how diligent I will be at doing it.

You first must run these 5 quests in Meridia to get the 5 Shavarath Stone pieces and give them to the chick in Meridia city.
She will allow you in to the Aldrich device to start crafting.

    * Running with the Devils - Shavarath Stone of Battle (red)
    (Ingredients: Bitterscrub Fungi, Glistening Pebbles)

    * Rainbow in the Dark - Shavarath Stone of Foresight (deep green)
(Ingredients: Green Briar Twigs, Glistening Pebbles)

    * Ritual Sacrifice - Shavarath Stone of Might (purple)
(Ingredients: Lammanian Lily Petals, Bitterscrub Fungi)

    * Let Sleeping Dust Lie - Shavarath Stone of Strategy (light green)
    (Ingredients: Locust Husk, Chipmunk Funk)

    * The Coalescence Chamber - Shavarath Stone of Victory (blue)
(Ingredients: Green Briar Twigs, Chipmunk Funk)

Once you put all 5 in to the stone of change you create a Signet Stone.

    Step one complete!

    Now - go here:
    http://ddowiki.com/page/Altar_of_Fecundity...redient_Recipes

To view the recipe of what you want to make - I want 2 GS Scimitars and a GS clothing item.
(You may have 3 total GS items but ONLY ONE can be a wearable item)

So for a GS Scimitar I need the following MANUFACTURED items:
    +5 Green Steel Scimitar
    Ore of Travail
    Blue Taper
    Wondrous Jewel
    Signet Stone
    Medium Splintered Horn

Manufactured items are created by finding raw ingredients - these raw ingredients appear in chests inside quests and outside rares.

Go here for the list of raw ingredients you need to combine in the Aldrich devise to create a manufactured ingredient:
    http://ddowiki.com/page/Altar_of_Fecundity...edients_Recipes

So using my list of Manufactured ingredients above I need to have the following for one SG scimitar:

    Ore of Travail
    + Locus Husk
    + Glistening Pebbles
    + Chipmunk Funk
    + Green Brier Twig
    + Energy Cell

    Blue Taper
    + Glistening Pebbles
    + Chipmunk Funk
    + Bitterscrub Fungus
    + Green Brier Twig
    + Energy Cell

    Wondrous Jewel
    + Wondrous Jewel #1
    + Locus Husk
    + Glistening Pebbles
    + Chipmunk Funk
    + Bitterscrub Fungus
    + Energy Cell

    Wondrous Jewel #2
    ++ Locus Husk
    ++ Chipmunk Funk
    ++ Bitterscrub Fungus
    ++ Green Brier Twig
    ++ Energy Cell

    Signet Stone
    * Running with the Devils - Shavarath Stone of Battle (red)
    * Rainbow in the Dark - Shavarath Stone of Foresight (deep green)
    * Ritual Sacrifice - Shavarath Stone of Might (purple)
    * Let Sleeping Dust Lie - Shavarath Stone of Strategy (light green)
    * The Coalescence Chamber - Shavarath Stone of Victory (blue)

    Medium Splintered Horn
Chest Drop section 3 of raid

So it looks like once you get to the point of GS crafting all you do is run re-run and run some more out in the 12 - I find that you make friends out there doing the same thing as you so PUGs are easy to form and trading is also free and easy.

The above is for a blank +5 GS Scimitar once made you then should (need?) to imbibe it with power effects of your choosing.

I know where the tables are for effect crafting - I just have not made it in to far to read and understand them as I am not that far along crafting yet. But this is where you put the +6 Constitution or Acid Blast 4d10 damage or Feather fall on items.

Each GS item can have three imbibed effects - so far I have run the 5 main quests and created one Signet Stone and enough raw ingredients to make one piece of manufactured ingredient out of the four others I need to make........

So like I said - there is a lot of running the same quests over and over and over to get all the raw to make manufactured to make balks to make weapons to make imbibed effects.

(I have been running them on Normal and I get one raw per chest open IE one - I "think" but am not sure that on the harder difficulty ingredients drop in more than quantity of one.
Will have to run on harder diff later to verify)

Sounds like GS is more of a pain in the ass than I am willing to undertake at this point. I will say that I am fairly tired of the grinding that certain aspects of this game require, not that I've come close to what you've done Duck.

    ummm, wow......

Well I think I've figured out what I'm crafting for my clothing item.
Boots as now that I have leap of faith I can give my self FF when needed so I free up my FF Boots.

Tier 1 Wizardry VI - 150 Spell Points
Tier 2 +50 Spell points - +1 Exceptional Wisdom bonus - Summon Elder Earth elemental x2/Day
Tier 3 +100 Spell Points - +3 Exceptional Wisdom bonus - Earth guard - if hit (attacker) reflex save 35 or be earth grabbed and all hits on opponent are rolled as critical while they are grabbed.
Reflex save 35 for each hit on wearer.

That'd be +300 Spell points - and as a Favorite Soul they double so +600 Spell Points for me.

Still playing with crafter software - but I think the SP boost would be the best for me.

    More wow....

I may have... yup I just pooped myself!

Slight deviation - where I thought the Exceptional bonus were addition to your stat (in my case Wisdom) would take me from Wis 25 to Wis 26 it's not the case - Exceptional bonuses effect the ability of wisdom.

So for my FS wisdom effects my spell penetration or the ability to overcome the enemy's spell resistance - the higher wisdom the better the chance I have of landing attack spells.

Same for Bubba - while Charisma determines who many spell points I get / wisdom's his - we both use wisdom's ability to overcome spell penetration.

So Exception bonus on green steel is that.

    If you could:

Right now I have a necklace that give 300spell points to Durrzo - and goggle that are blindness immunity / True seeing.

I've decided to craft goggle -

I think I'm down to one of these two goggle formulas -

    A) +300 Spell points (I have 2282 sp now - but this number already includes a +300 SP necklace), +2 Wisdom skill (needed for my spell penetration), + 100 Spell Points, Summon Dense Erth Elemental x2/day, + 200 Spell points Earth grab (auto-crit on hits)
    Total of +600 SP

B.) Blindness Immunity, True seeing, Disease Immunity, Fear Immunity, Proof against Poison, Symbol of Weakness x3/day, Death block, and Slay living guard.
(If they ht me (on each hit) they save DC 30 Fortitude or die (like the spell Bubba and I use the big orange skull when they die) if they save it's 5d6 damage on them)

I really think (B.) as I do not have poison resist spell, usually find my Deathblock robe in bank, the Deathblock spell is dispelled from Beholders, don't wear disease immunity item as I have Heal.

    What would you choose?

(I finally got that last shard of power, so I can craft everything one one goggle recipe or the other, but I don not have enough ingredients to craft the ability in blue.

My personal thought is this, spell points for me = life. With spell points I can fight effectively and take care of myself and the group.
  10. #10
yah that's what I t thought too - but it looks like (B.) is the typical craft - called triple negative recipe.

The SP apparently can be made up with other drops in game with out the need to craft them.
    I think B wins.

Bubba here is the off line crafting planner I use - it also has maps, named item look up, and ingredients tracker.
Cool thing about the tracker there is a radio button on the recipe planner to cross reference to your ingredients tracker so you'll know what you need and how many more....

    Nice feature.

In case the DL does not work - here is the site / post I got it from

This web site is harder to use first off, I needed to understand the one I linked up top first and then I had a better handle on the web site crafter below.

This one is dynamic and you can see what will work with what for crafting - I think the quickest way to understand it is the next time were on vent we'll pull it up and do a quick dog and pony so you can see it.

Ok now that we've started crafting - you'll notice that every recipe includes an Energy cell of some sort (Small, Medium or Large) in each line of recipe.

You get them from chests inside the Shroud as Full or Depleted - for the recipe they need to be full, how to recharge is simple but needs you to pay attention to what you need.

As far as I know Low energy cells are always full....

Medium and Large need to be recharges if depleted, they all are consumed when creating a component for Green Steel.

How to recharge - A cell can be recharged by placing a "vendor trash" weapon (something you would normally sell or auction) and the depleted cell in to the alter at the level you want in the Shroud and hitting mix-magically button - the weapon is destroyed but it's magical ability recharges the depleted cell.

To say - a medium cell can be recharged with a weapon stat of +6 to +15 in the middle section of the Shroud and a Large cell can be recharged by +8 to +15 weapons.

You can also buy charged energy cells from the Skeleton vendor in part three..... but his price is through the roof.....

How to tell what "+" a weapon has.... look in the upper right hand corner of the weapon description in the example below the Ax is a +9 so you could recharge a Medium or Large cell with this.

So on Dduck I need to recharge 5 cells - so in his bank slot I have 5 weapons locked that are all +9 or greater .... the next time I run a shroud even though I'm not ready to craft - I'll recharge the cells to get that out of the way......

Also as I go along I'll create the Gems and Essences to have the components ready to go - in my bag so when I do finally get that FREAKING shard of power (low level) I'll be all set for Tier 1 and 2 (low and Medium) crafting.

*** Moral of the story - start being wise to what you get in raids, know how many cells and of what kind you have and if they are full or depleted, if depleted keep some of the junk weapons to recharge

*** Also very IMPORTANT! only Weapons work - armor does not even though it too has a "+" in upper right corner.... weapons only.

I will check how many depleted I have, I have a stack I think, like 8 medium and 5 large. Will share.
