Open Area Leveling Idea

I had an idea I would like to try sometime.

Most of us have been soloing the open area's. I think I have an idea that might speed that process up.

If we group up, then each take different routes, we should exponentially increase the speed of our kills. I haven't seen any issues with separating as long as we were in the same instance and in a party, so this seems like it should work well.

I'm 500 kills away from 1500 and 10K experience in 3 Barrels. Would anyone be willing to take their alts and join up with me on this? I know several of you are level 6's, but if you grab a hireling, you should still be able to solo your area. Not to mention, I can take the harder orc encampment and you guys could head to the kobolds, skeletons, mephits or pirates. This should benefit both of us.

What do you think? Worth a shot?

3 Barrel, Searing Heights - Yes will work
Attraxia, Merckentime (sp?) - definably NO

Both of those wildernesses areas are loaded with real bad dudes -

Doc and Pal have see some of the Mummies, Zombies and other wandering undead of Merc - we had a full party including a lvl 12 and lvl 13 monks and a lvl 12 Barbarian and we were hard pressed to stay alive as a group, apart would not work.

3 Barrel and Searing - no issues I'll pull Bbender or Paliin and run alone as a group - hell it would help our lower level players too.

The only issues is when you go to explore caves, we can only do one at a time.

Even caves would go faster as a group though. It's a slog sometimes fighting all those guys by yourself.

I'd be up for a group run through the adventure areas that we can. Don't forget Tangleroot Gorge if you haven't already been through it (I haven't).

In three barrels, it's less caves and more true quests. That was why I thought it might be easier. Also, we can hit the rare spawns faster this way.

I agree, just noting the potential issues. Also we some might lose treasure chests, not sure if I would care, but other than that, I think it would be a good strat.

From my perspective, XP > chests unless you are talking about boobies.

I agree, though I will say, sometimes I enjoy playing the game more than just leveling and rushing to get XP.

I would have loved to gone through 3 barrel. I missed out on it and I am sure you guys are not willing to run through the entire thing again 🙂

I was going to solo it but that is tough as Sarge said.

Paladin - You won't get any XP for the base quests. You might get some XP for the Elite level quests.

I'm not doing a lot of the quests. Several of them actually bothered me, so I've had to skip them.

I agree with you Bubba, but this outdoor stuff for the Explorer Quests is just grinding. Might as well make it as fast as possible.

One other thing I've noticed about 3 Barrels is the rare's don't spawn worth a crap. I've ran the whole thing between 10 and 15 times and up until today, I had only gotten 3 rare's and 2 of them were the orc camps which I was getting all the time.

I'm 300 away from 1500 which is worth over 10K. Right now, I need that XP asap.

Well tell me next time you play and I will help. I had just the opposite with rares there, they all spawned on me by the end of my second trip, with the vast majority on my first.

Have you looked in to Pick Up Groups?
You can tell almost right away if the group is going to be Bad/OK/Great almost right away.

If bad, play the map and leave or if they are REALLY bad leave in the middle, but if you get a OK or GREAT stick with them.

Try to find groups that are in your upper third level range. Your 8 look for groups with 10's and 11's You know your in a great group if they're using in game comms as opposed to just run and die groups.

That's how I run Vicodiin even to this day when I feel like or am asked to bring him out by friends. And make sure you friend the good ones - and send them a tell to let them know your friending them. If they send you a tell back that there foing the same - you know you've got someone in your level that's a good gamer and ready to go when yoru both online.

The EXP comes much easyer that way, then all we need to do is get you to 9 and then we can take over and re-run the higher EXP maps to keep padding your level and you should be OK.

It's much easier than 5 days wandering the wilderness looking for 3 rares and only 17,000 more kills before you get your next 5k EXP.
As an example, Doc, Pal and I have run a single map in Threnal now 4 times first go 10K exp 2nd w/ Bubba 9K 3rd w/ Sarge 5k (Failure) 4th w/ Bubba and Sarge 9K
The map takes maybe 30 min. So 2 hours netted 34K exp.

Paladiins of the mind now we start every night gaming running it before we actually PLAY the game...... I like his thought process......

Any ways I ramble... Look in to PUG's there worth your time and worth the EXP.
