Problem with Fortification

Apparently this is a pretty well known bug, but sometimes your fortification can disappear so that when you think you are 100% fortified, you are at 0%. Unequipping the item and then re-equipping it seems to fix it, but sometimes it requires relogging.

This might explain why Bubba was getting crushed so badly on the Shroud raid the other night, and when Duck and I struggled so much on those runs flagging my Monk for the MOTU content last week.

Another thread that talks more about mobs bypassing Fortification

    That would explain it.

Not just fortification either - weapon effects are effected also.
I have a pair of wraps that should have force / force burst on them and some times all I see is base damage.
I change wraps and then put the others back o n and then get base/force/force burst

Others are seeing that also - word is turbine is working on the issue.

I did not know about the fortification issue though. I do believe your character sheet will show you at fort 0% and reapply you should see fort 100%

Problem is unless you watch your character sheet, you won't know until you have been crit'd.

You'll have to listen closely but you hear an "ominous" sound when you get critted now.
For healing amp I took Vic's Minos off and added that healing hat.... he does get critted and the best I can describe it is the cheesy creepy sound from 80's horror movies right before someone dies (FAWOOOOOM)
    You've been critically hit...

Also my look in the combat log - it may say you took a critical hit.
But I don't run a combat log - so IDK.

Not only is it with fortification - (this is referencing after U15 has hit also by the way)
With Jun I can be looking at my character screen and change my robes Spider-Spun and Sun-Soul and put my two rings Tumbleweed and (Wis +6 Protection+5) on and off

And depending on which way I put them and switch stances from wind to earth to wind and get an AC anywhere between 74 and 99

I can just move between stances - always ending up back in wind stance and see ac all across the range 74, 77, 90, 88, 99 (each number representing the final AC in wind stance)

I'd be interested if you could do the same if you have a protection item - or Sarge if you could duplicate with your monk also.

This is crazy, and not sure if anything will come of it but I'll send an email to Turbine on this.

I may be reading what you wrote incorrectly, but as a monk, doesn't your armor class vary somewhat with stance anyhow because of the shift in your str/con/dex/wis with each?

I'll try and take a look tonight if I can get some time.

Right - but you would think if I went from Wind to Earth and back to wind my AC starting in wind is 74 then to earth is 83 then back to wind my ac does NOT go BACK to 74 but may be 91 or 77 or 88 or 74....

Same issue if I stay in any one stance and take off a +6 Dex ring and put it back on.. my AC will not be the same as it was before I took the ring off....

(and no I checked to see if a Paladin was near for the AC boost)
I can duplicate on the ship or alone in a wilderness area.

    bugged.

Yeah, I thought the changes were a bit excessive to simply be based on stance. My advice would be to keep shifting your gear on and off until you hit an AC of 99 in your chosen stance and run with it 😀
