Going for a NannyBOT healer - which specializes in massive group healing and buffs. Not much of a fighter, but kick ass for healing - will take a month or so of weekday work time playing to get it up to our level - but when it does we'll really have a rock-on healer.
Running all the Korthos island maps normal to Elite to get all the goodies this time also.
Yah been doing s lot of reading on Clerics (always played one with paper D&D) and found that in the DDO world Humans and Halflings are prefered healers (other races better for melee clerics and the like.)
Humans for the extra ability and points as they gain rank - halflings for DragonMark healing. I play with a PUG during the day that haas a halflinig healer using DragonMark healing and one of the abilities is "HOT" Heal Over Time - it uses no mana points (spell points) which at lower levels heals a single player and at higher levels the group doing 1d4 healing every second for 30 seconds with a 6 second cool down before the halfling can re-use (again no mana taken for this ability) And at mid level the healing moves to 2d4 / second - 30 seconds. WOW!
Halfling Cleric w/ DragonMark FTW!
So I'm working it up this week (presently at Lvl4 doorstep) Then we;ll have a choice on maps Barbarian or second Cleric.
Yah the only part that sucks is starting over and then getting up to our present level. Should be no problem though - PUGs are always looking for healers - so I'll not be short on work.
Bubba - On your next level up opportunities do a Level of Fighter. Your cleric gets some particularly nasty spell capabilities in later levels so you don't want to give that up entirely, but mixing in the fighter should increase your ability to wade into crowds and whoop some ass. You might as well see how that goes before you start from scratch.
Sarge has a good point, your Cleric may be a geed offensive or melee Cleric. My Cleric will b a HealBOT only everything I do for it will be all towards healing only - no damage related spells if healing or party buffs are the other choice.
At bigger levels we'll need the Cleric that can do 200healpoints a cast. And to do that it has to stay on the healers path exclusively.
Having Bubba as a Fighter/Cleric with Atomm as a back p Paladin with healing should keep us all alive.
Just did some more reading on HOT: It maxes out at 3d3 every 2 seconds for 30 seconds, so effectively 45d3 over 30 seconds which isn't too bad.
I also choose the support role. All my abilities go to spotting/disabling those traps and unlocking doors etc...
Our best options are letting Sarge and I go ahead to spot and disable traps then I can do very well sneaking up/around and hitting while the main guys rush in and pwn the baddies. I do some serious damage hitting from the back. It is easy as they are usually busy fighting you guys. Duck can stay back constantly healing us and Doc can use the wizard spells from afar. Bubba can stay back and heal or jump in, depending on his mood at the time 🙂
This should give us a nice round party to kick arse! 🙂
Not having you around is really noticeable Paladin (And Sarge) it's amazing how important you are for just that.
I may have a very nice Dagger +3 for you Paladin, if a successful back stab it it actually removes and extra 1d6 of Constitution damage. What that does is lowers the actual maximum hit points of a monster, where as a standard weapon damage can be healed wit this dagger you actually lower the maximum hit point level......
I just don;t know though, it's a 18.5K device and my barbarian looks at that as a lot of healing potion purchases..... LOL
Tell you what - I'll let you use it, if you want to try it - but PLEASE do not sell it. Let me know and I'll hand it over for you to try.
Bubba, Sarge has a point. If you could figure out how to get a level of Paladin, it would give you the fighter bonuses, plus the immunities a pally gets.
Check this out Bubba. It's spot on to what you are trying to do. It's a few years old, so take it with a grain of salt, but it's a starting point.

Funny here we are - looking at several year old info and were all WOOOOO COOL most players are man that's so old my mama knew that.
Ha - fun figuring this out together. - Sorry Bubba no pictures just words, if you need one of us can read it to you, seeing you dropped out on the 4th grade.
I will try, I tried at my last leveling and it wouldn't let me. I am not upset by my character... just trying to do what will be the best for the group
I think if Bubba wants to go a different route a straight fighter would be great for him. A second tank never hurts. The option of just taking a second Paladin level is there and as a dwarf it makes a good beast, if you have planned out all of your feats and skill points and whatnots to make the best of the build. It might be best just to leave the cleric all sorts of normal and start fresh with something new. If I remember right it wouldn't let you take a Paladin level because you were not the right alignment. As such only a fighter level would help but that would hurt your cleric more than help it in the long run.
An extra fighter is always needed, as then we would have two main tank types, Atomm and Bubba.. ftw?
I have a great idea....... Doc needs something to kill some time..... What if he played your fighter during the week when he's holding up waiting for us? :-)
We could all take turns getting you up to level 5 at the least.......

Can I also buy and sell stuff at auction for him? 😉
