Adding Colors To Your Quake Wars Username

    How do I add cool colors to my name?
    Open your autoexec.cfg and add the following lines:

    Seta ui_name "^1Sgt. Snuffy"

    The first line sets your name. The color for each letter is denoted by a "^" and number. My name, "Sgt. Snuffy", is all red letters so I only use a "^1" in front of the first letter. The numbers corresponding to the other colors are:

    1 - Red
    2 - Green
    3 - Yellow
    4 - Blue
    5 - Cyan
    6 - Magenta
    7 – White
    8 - Gray
    9 - Black

    You can also use these codes directly in the Setup:Player line where you first entered your name -- I just like to manage everything though my autoexec. Here is the full palette of color codes

    If we do this, we should all use the same color, for the GRB tag at least, so we all stand out but look like a team.

    I havent been in the game for a bit, but if I remember right, the clan tag in the GUI had options for the display colors....

    I was thinking Black, Grey or White | and Red GRB.

    Thoughts?

    Just for happiness there is also this option in the GUI under settings.. with a nice little range of colors to choose from.

    Didn't stick very well in the beta but I have hopes for the demo

    Just go to option.. move the cursor where you want the color to start.. right click > select color .. finish making selections and then hit apply
