So I'm trying to get The Witcher running under my Windows 7 system. It was previously installed on my XP system before upgrading. I decided I would really like to play something and I was getting closer to finishing and it was a great game. But I can't get the damn thing to register to save my life.
It will play as is, but without registering, I can't get the updates installed to upgrade it to the Enhanced Edition which fixed a ton of bugs and made the Inventory system actually manageable. Not to mention, it put all the gore back into the game. And what fun is a hack and slash without gore?
So Atari support gave me a generic canned response to my ticket, so I sent them this.

I have run the game as administrator.
I have updated the tages driver.
I have turned off all firewalls.
I have tried making multiple browsers the default browser.
I have cleared all cookies in both browsers.
I tried running register.exe under safe mode with networking.
I also did the hokey pokey and turned myself around, but that did about as good as everything else I've tried. 🙁
