Battlefield 2: Armored Fury March 28!

    Battlefield 2: Armored Fury (PC)
Available online through EA's downloader service, Battlefield 2: Armored Fury is a booster pack for the multiplayer shooter Battlefield 2.
Battlefield 2: Armored Fury adds three new maps, all set in the rural heartland of America where the US forces defend their homeland from Chinese and MEC forces. This Booster Pack will also introduce two new vehicle classes: Attack Jets with the ability to use rocket pods and cluster bombs, and agile Scout Choppers which will reveal nearby enemies. "Midnight Sun" takes place on the Alaskan border, where Chinese forces make landfall. "Operation Harvest" will take the player to the vast open plains of Pennsylvania where only the expert use of air and armor will assure victory. "Operation Road Rage" sees all-out tank warfare on the freeways of America.

Note: This expansion pack requires the full version of Battlefield 2 to play.

From what I heard, EuroForces had too many tanks. I can't imagine how the next expansion pack turns out.

I think tank maps are fun. Aberdeen was a blast if you were a tanker. But there was actually something missing from that map that made it fun - Airplanes. Bombers with Cluster Bombs and Rocket Pods will pwn the tanks unless there is good AA to counterbalance. Toss a couple ZSU's in with the tanks and maybe it will be closer to being balanced.

That balance is what is missing from many BF2 maps. Every weapon/vehicle should have a counter and many times they don't (or in the case of AA or TOWs are placed such as to be completely useless) which makes it that when you have some players that are really good with a particular thing, they dominate everyone.

The other thing missing from most BF2 maps is legitimate cover and concealment. With the UAV, few large wooded areas, and disappearing grass, there is often no place to hide. Try using some of the concealment tactics that Everclear taught us in FH in BF2 and you would be bombed or artied within minutes because you just cannot hide.

    Bring on the mods!

Fighting the MEC and Chinese in Pennsylvania?

Man, I hope they try to invade through west Philly or Chester. You need a tank if you want to travel through those places at night unmolested...

Does that mean there will be new US forces as well like crack dealers with rocket launchers? 'Say hello to my little friend, yo!' [BOOM!]

So I guess this will mean another $10 online download purchase to avoid being left behind... [sigh]. 🙁

As long as they do not roll into my house in Pittsburgh 😉
Kind of cool to be fighting in my home state 😉
