I finally got it, installed it, and opened it. The first thing that happened was an Error screen popped up and said,
"This configuration "bfvietnam.cfg" appears to out of date. It is suggested that you re-create this configuration in order to use the new content.
I thought installing the patch was the up-date.
After I hit ok it opens, but im not sure if I wanna try anything with the config outta wack. I really dont want to mess up my maps.
Side note: Does anyone understand how to use the tunnel tool completely. I clicked and a Big square dissapeared (Which I Couldnt Undo) that was really outta place. Wasnt sure what to do.
The answer to this question in the PB forums is to copy your bfvietnam.cfg off somewhere as a backup. Reopen BC and let it create a new one. Then if you have any custom rfa calls, put them in the new one. This is what I did and it worked. Now to figure out the crazy OpenGL error I get when I open. Cajunwolf posted some steps for the Nvidia, but I have an ATI. Oh well, it just appears to be a nuisance.
I believe it is a specific set of 3D instructions. There is a driver as well. It is an open standard that works on Mac, Linux and Windows. This is why some games can run on Linux and Windows from the same CD. They support Open GL, rather than Direct3D which is Microsofts propriatery 3D instruction set. Direct3D is a part of Direct X.
A lot of 3D software packages support Open GL over Direct 3D.

Ive been trying to map all day and Boy does this patch SUCK!!!!
Is there a way I can revert to 1.1???
Major problems: The new Icons, Besides being Larger than most of the Objects, Does not go away when you click off of the Object Tab. This is a HUGE pain in the a$$ trying to line up precise things and to see how things look overall.
It also keeps me from taking screenshots in BC seeing as the map is covered with these stupid little house Icons.
Second, When you open Standard meshes in the Left and click on a certain Object, It does not go to that object anymore and If you Double click, It will not Open the Pos / Rot Window.
This means you have to find the object and zoom right up to it. And if its inside another object, like in a bush, you will have to move the bush so you can select what you need.
1.2 has double the effort and time you must spend to make a map. I really hope someone gets them to fix these things.
HAHAH So I was thinking this morning I might try to get back into mappin with my fresh install of windows, etc... I load up BC 1.2 and BAM, hard reboot. I reinstall it and BAM, hangs up system...
Fuck it. I guess I'll wait till BF2 to try mapping again.
