The reviews of Battlefield 2142 are starting to come in. Thought I would consolidate and share the ones that I have seen so far.

Gametrailers 9.1 out of 10 (based on 275 user submitted votes)

Worthplaying 8.9 out of 10

Gamespy has held off on a final verdict pending more testing.

Considering all the negative press etc... I am surprised to see most average 8+. I am liking it so far but have only played it one night non beta/demo.

The unlocks come fast so that is not a pain as much as first thought. I have to play a bit more before I give my total opinion.

With all I do like about it, seems fairly bug free overall....Not perfect but not as buggy as BF2 did when it came out. One negative though is it still does not remember the right mouse for my forward control.. Sheesh this is a lame bug 😉

It is a stupid bug but it takes me literally 10 seconds to re-set them. It keeps everything else so...

Yah, the same stupid bug that existed in BF2 upon release. It wasn't fixed until the first patch. I'm glad you only have one to remap. My setup of extensive key remaps took up to 7 or 8 that won't stay set. Pain in the ass...

Yea that sucks. I agree it should not be there. I mean actual game code I can understand but the controls? How lame 🙂

It is fun though 😉

I've been playing pretty heavily with the NC guys. I really like this game. And yeah, it seems relatively bug-less. a few minor one's so far, but in my opinion, I am starting to beleive that BF2 may have simply been the Beta testing for the engine... with 2142 I think we're seeing a fairly well developed project. Which makes me about all the crap we went through with BF2.

I will have to introduce myself and check those guys out. It is REALLY a shame everyone here is so against getting it. It really is fun and we would have a good time playing as a team.

I also think it would help interject some new life into the clan. Give everyone something new to play.

I need some cash interjected into my wallet before I can buy anything.


Seen any advertising in game? That part kinda concerns me.

I have not and so far and from what I have been reading on PBF, no one else has either. Yet at least 😉
I think they are having a hard time getting advertisers at this point. I think right now they are just collecting user location data to use to get it.

I am not too worried as it is not something running on you machine that collects or sends any personal info. Just your IP so it can target to your area. This actually does not bother me.

EA is a HUGE company and I am sure they would not do that without full disclosure. They would be sued out the ass and believe me, gamers are smart people that would find it. EA are many things but not so stupid as to set themselves up for a major class action law suit. 😉

Now if it is found to be something else I will bitch at that point. I will even jump in on the law suit. 😉
