BF2 is it worth it?

Ok ready to buy it, but having doubts about if I really want it

What are your thoughts on the game now that you all have had it for a month?

Overall, I really like it. There are some frustrating things, and there are some tweaks that definately need to be made to gameplay, weapons, and vehicles. Most times I play I have fun, and playing as a squad is a good time.

Looks like I'll find out soon enough....

Well I'll answer my own question.

I think it sucks, with a capitol SUCKS I'm sorry you guys bought it full price, hell at $30 on Ebay I think it was 3X too much.

I know some of you like it, but the weapons blow, the dynamics suck, you TK every thing you touch, all the ass bags out there punish for TK, you jump to the moon.

It's a $hit game. My only fun with the game in the week and a half was on |GRB|'s FNF and then the suck ass auto-balance kept moving me around, I realize it needs to be on for rank servers (rank... good word for the game you rat bastards.)

I use to stay up late, and just Jones for BF1942 and Desert Combat, now I could care less, I find that every map I play the commanders are clueless and the squad leaders blow. I have not yet left a server voluntarily, I complete a few maps, then the only fun I have is TKing and screwing with my team, then the admins or server managers kick me for being a retard.

I'll play now and then on Friday nights, but don't hold any slots open for me, not for this trash.

While I don't disagree with the things you find wrong with it, I still enjoy it. I haven't had this much fun in a long, long time. Sure, playing by myself on other servers sucks, but getting in a squad with my buds is awesome!

Just keep playing with us on Friday Nights. Down the road, when the WWII mod's come out, it should get very, very interesting.

It's hard to think of a pig with lipstick as the prom queen.

You know you are going to hurt both Sarges and Mikes feelings. Sarge couldn't help it, but the lipstick did look good on him. And Mike, well we all know pigs are the only thing they allow you to bring to prom in Canada. ;-)

That was one helluva Rant and u nailed about most of it.

A few others that reeely kill me, mainly because thier easy fixes:

You still cant swim left or right which u could do in 42, not Nam.<--weak.

Sometimes its InSainly hard to see a "player name" to see if thier friend or foe. I usually pop off a couple shots to get the name lit up. lol <---Give us the Full 3-D map>Nam style.

The Splash damage is worse than ever. You can rocket straight down, kill an enemy, but survive. Noob tubin' b*tches.

And the worse...already mentioned, you bump a friendly vehicle and your dead. What makes it the worse though, Is I hit an Enemy FULL Blast and it did Not kill him. He slid off like we were playing 42. hah.

BUT
It has its good points. You will either eventually find a gun u like ( Mine is the standard MEC Medic AK47. <--Ownz) or you'll start flinging C-4 and get really good at that. And it can be really fun.

You can run around like a madman and keep bringing teamates back to life in the heat of battle. <--My fav. thing to do.

Or try playing as commander, thats fun. You always know where the enemy is, you always have acess to a repair/health crate. Drop that sh*t at your feet. lol and you can use an Entire Artilery Strike just to kill a sniper. haha

But I do agree the game's code IS fubar. :twisted:

Drix, the game is crap! Aren't you pissed that they hosed you for $60.00 and you did not get kissed before the screwed you?

I'll play the game because everyone else is, but it's more something to do because I can't think of anything else to do.
Not like the good old days of playing BF1942 and DC_F for 15 hours straight.

This game will never have that kind of addiction, and now they want to release a Special Forces Add-on BEFORE they fix their crappy base game? Sure why not! If we except the crap they produced now, we might as well just lay down and not tell them that there first attempt blows chunks and just except the new releases before they fix the base game.

They have keep the money coming in some how.

I like the betafield.2. Duck I will say this, I didn't like the game or gameplay when i first installed either, but I came around to it

I'm with Bubba. I wasn't too happy at first, but I really like the game. Sure it has a few issues, but the squad based stuff is great. The way the different classes compliment each other reminds me of my old Team Fortress days.

First ,lol, A bunch of mod teams wore those banners, but they were "boycott till we get the mapping tools".

Within a week we had the Tools and a private forum with L. Brown, a few other EA guys, Zerke ( creator of Battlecraft ), and a few other Mod teams. It lasteed 1 day and somebody leaked the program. Hahah

Now its a public forum full of crap just like PBF. lol

As for playing Atomm, I play alot, but its always from like 11:30 pm Est to around 11:30 am. On my weeks off I get on early sometimes, but normally its late.

I'll look for ya guys on TS though.

Look for us on Fridays at the least. Also, EJ and Hymen play later because of the west coast difference. We've been having a blast and it would be cool to have everyone around.

Everyone back playing = Cool.

Well it's been 3 or 4 weeks with this miserable excuse for a game, and I STILL think is sucks a$$

For the most part the one and only time I have had fun since getting it was 2 weeks ago on FNF when we shrunk the map to 16.

I still get kicked far more than just leaving servers.
I'm banned on 20 or so servers, and just don't care f I piss people off or not.
I get tired of the game and just start screwing off and next thing I know Kick/Ban depending on how crappy I think the game is at the time.

Sorry guys, you may like this game but I think it blows big time.

When CoD2 comes out this trash is going to Ebay, and I won't regret selling it.

I still wanna know what sucks so bad compared to say, BFV, which was a huge TURD. This game is soooo much better than BVV it isnt even funny....

Guess it's a personal thing, I think BF_V and Desert Combat is stil better than this new crap.

It's not fun it's sad how much this game is a stinking pile of $h1t, no one works together, VOIP is a joke, the dynamics suck, tk-o-rama, servers you have to rent from Rat Bastards or their cohorts that lag ass so bad, the maps are already boring, patches that don't work, not worth $10

VOIP works great for me, I make my own squads and get my own team working together. I have yet to see a ranked server with someone on a tk fest, they always get booted/baned in a heartbeat. 1 bad patch, which was fixed pretty quickly. And I ping great to a ton of ranked servers....

I think some one just hates EA. 🙂 Yes they are Rat Bastards, but this game is 100000x better than that heaping pile of crap BFV. Talk about bad/no patches......wow. You must have some jaded glasses to overlook all the problems it had. 🙂

I agree with Both of you. Brules, keep in mind, Duck bought BFV on Ebay about 4 months ago. He didn't suffer through all the crap like we did.

Here are my thoughts.

BF2 runs better than BFV ever did.
BF2 forces teamwork better than BFV ever did.
BF2 maps lack the character of BFV. In all honesty, I can see myself getting bored of BF2 really quick because of the maps.

In conclusion, BFV was a horribly designed Game Engine and the game lacked balance and playability, but the maps had a lot of character.

BF2 on the other hand is very good game engine. It has a lot more balance from the start, even when compared to BFV today. The maps on the other hand are not as interesting as BFV.

Yeah the BF2 maps will get old fast, but when they FINALLY release the map tools to make new ones, that will be when the game really starts to shine!!!

Lucky Duck missed the BFV release hahahahahahaha I can't imagine how bad he would have railed one EA for that one hehehehehee, it makes me rofl to even think about it!!!!

This I totally agree with.  If you get a good squad, your set. And if you get a Good commander as well......Then you can really have a Fun game.

The maps are not the greatest \"Except Sharqui Peninsula\" <sp'? lol  That map OWNZ.  

If the map rotation is: Sharqui , Masturr City, and Karkland....Im in that sh*t alll Night.  But the bigger maps are not that fun and I seem to die ALOT.

Whooaaaa Now. The Refractor II Engine was Veery good. Pretty damn awesome actually.  EA / Dice or who ever just Suck!!! haha

BF2s engine is the sucky one my freind. Not going into detail...cant type that much. hah

As for balance, etc.. BF2 feels like Carbon copies of each team, especially when you use an unlocked weapon. <Same for every team??? WTF way to skimp out a bunch of work. lol

But with all that said, I Still PLay it, I have alot of fun. If I have a match that makes me want to uninstall it...lol...I simply type "quit" in the console and do something else. :twisted:

But Im telling ya, Practice with one or 2 kits, Remeber all of EAs stupid crap and watch out for it. Dont get out of a moving Boat, Dont get out of a Hummer on a Hill, Dont touch the Turret of the Tank, pretty much just Stay the Hell Away from vehicles!!! LOL

Find me on TS sometime and we'll get some guy stuck in a Revive Loop. Thatll make you feel better. :twisted: *CLEAR*

Haha I am liking it more and more. Yes, some of the maps are geting old, but I find myself playing on the 32 or less servers now a days. I actually played a sniper the other day and got 25 kills! I was like suhweeeet!

Oh and sniper + claymores rocks. I love climbing up onto a roof top and seting the claymore near the ladder so if anyone tries to sneaky up on me, DOOM on them hahahaha!
