Downloaded and played BF2 Pro mod tonight for a bit. Played some pretty intense rounds of Oman and Karkand 16 player size on some server. Seems like the tweaks that they have done are pretty good but it was hard to tell since I died about every 2-3 seconds it seemed. I haven't seen so much nade spamming/toobing/bunny hopping/ dolphining in a while 🙁
I have no idea if the mod allows it or if the guys playing had just figured out how to get around it. I want to try it again on a different server and see what happens.
I think some of it was the server that I was on (there was only one) and the people that were on it. The other thing that frustrated me greatly was the squad hopping. I joined a squad as soon as I logged in with 3 other guys in it. Within 30 seconds I was the squad leader, within another 30 I was alone in the squad. During the next twenty minutes my squad filled up and then emptied again at least 3 times. Most people do some leaving then rejoining a squad to be able to spawn on the squad leader, but this was just ridiculus.
I really am hoping that it was just the server I was on, and that as more servers go up, I will have some better options.
Keep in mind, this was developed for competition. I imagine the guys playing were hardcore competitors. If that's the case, they are going to do everything they can to get the slightest advantage. Unfortunately, it ruins the game...... 🙁
