I swore I would not buy this, but given my experience with BF2, I really believe this has the potential to be more popular than BF. As long as DICE Canada doesn't screw it up.
I love the city maps and since this is going to be mainly urban based warfare, I will buy it.
I don't know. Some of it will depend on how much it costs and how much money I have in my pocket at that time. It does have some interesting features but I also think that there are a lot of mods coming out for free that will be fun to play too.
You know my thoughts. But in case you've forgotten.... I can't see a mode that only adds darkness any more fun than the same thing in the light.
Ropeslide....so? Rapel.......Jump and use a chute! (or in to vehicles or empty pools with no damage and no chute) Want night vision.... turn down your red and blue guns in your monitor..... you'll have green everything now.
I think they need to worry about getting good damn code for the base game before they worry about some flashy do-dad SF mod that will not integrate at all (according to DICE) in to the base suck game. Fix the original code first Rat Bastards, then troll for the kiddies hard earned money.
Spetsnaz does not use the G36
The U.S. Navy S.E.A.L. looks goofy, I have never seen any U.S. Military uniform like they are wearing. Nice way to hang grenades off their chest, looks like a sow with boobs
I hope the hell they don't do gas masks in the game. Those of us that have actually had to wear them know they SUCK BAD, I can't imagine a game trying to simulate that much suck and try to pass it off as fun.
EDIT: No way in hell am I buying this, not after the disappointment od BF2.
Modern combat is not my thing. I bought BF2 in anticipation of some good WWII or Vietnam mods. The longer I am forced to play with modern weapons and vehicles, the less I am inclined to play (as is evidenced by the fact that my BF2 play time has decreased from every night to once a week). I could give a shit about an expansion pack that gives me more modern combat. I want WWII or Vietnam!
You should have seen me when I found out that was the new map. It could never be reporduced in a forum post, so I haven't even tried. I think the whole street heard me. I was apoplectic. Could be worse, I guess. At least it's not Coral Sea.
I already have DoD:Source pre-loaded on my machine. I'll be giving that a spin as soon as Valve gives the green light. There are several of us who play Rome: Total War online. I've actually given some thought to the notion of reinstalling BF42 and playing a few rounds for nostaligia's sake.
IRT Sarge: I'd gladly take Alamein if I could fly my B-17 again. I'd give anything to be able to fly my Beezer again. I really miss hearing the screams in Ventrilo.
I've already seen a release of wake as a custom map. Have it loaded on my machine. I also got some others but one was really good. Attack_at_Taiming: real tight quarters combat. not a city but a village
See, that is what we need to get back into, custom maps.
You know, we have a nice Beta of 42 for Vietnam just wanting someone to play test it. Heck, we were even thinking about sending it to EA for QA, then fixing whatever they find and getting it released. Surely we could get someone to play it for 1 weekend.
Dick, are any of the other CAT's going to play DoD: Source?
I'm not touching the expansion pack until we get some decent patches for BF2. 1.03 is a start but it's not enough.
As for DoD:S.... I don't pay for mods. Perhaps if all the other CAT boys all move over to DoD then they'll be able to drag me over there kicking and screaming (deep down they all know that if you aint killing an Englishman in a game then it's ultimately unsatisfying).
