Bought it. Running it. Enjoying it. And to all the pre-release complaints I declare the following:

    SAND!
(reference to South Park for those not familure with the term form the OKGG: "Kyle you've really got to do something about that sand in your vagina". Used to properly label loud whining... often in retort to one being tired of hearing said whining.)

I know eveyrone has their complaints, and I'm not saying anyone stick with this game. But I have no complaints from the actual play, thus far. The Game seems as refined as BF2 is currently, and with my active camo and det packs I'm already agrivvating the hell out of people, and finding new ways to do it.

So I'm having fun. Some of the complaints are well founded... still, I can see past them for now. ...and have fun.

Okay. I bought 2142 yesterday. I did not open it just yet but probably will this weekend.
This is not a EA sucks discussion so please keep that in the other forums 😉

I just decided I am not going to make a stand against EA. I really thought about it and decided that I am not jumping on the "I will not purchase the game to send a message to EA" wagon. The reason is it does not really work to our advantage. Why? Look at your local cable service. I hear "If people would just cancel their cable the company will learn a lesson and drop the prices!" Do people do it? No. Why? Because you want/need it. Sure in that example there is satellite but is that really as good? Some say yes, some no. I am not arguing this one 🙂
I live in the middle of a hill so probably could not even get satellite. I HATE the cable company with all my being. I still pay $100 each month for it though. Why, because it is better to pay and have TV than not.

I pay twice as much each month for that than I did for 2142 just ONCE. A one time $50 investment will bring me hundreds of hours of fun. It is a MUCH better value per hour than anything else I ever spend money on. I spend $15-$20 on a DVD that I may watch 2 or 3 times giving me an average of 2 hours entertainment. People spend much much more money on way lesser value items. When we all play together, it is just a very sociable, good time. Worth the $50, yep!

My point is PC gamers need these games and the companies need us to buy them to keep making them. Yes even with the problems they can have. It is much more cost effective to produce games for console games. The hardware is identical so the bugs are less. You do not have to worry about various MB’s and video cards etc.. This is the good point to them. The fact that consoles suck is the bad side 🙂

I personally just hate console games. I only owned a few and none since the 80’s. With that said us PC gamers really need to support games. Yes EA can be idiots and have bugs etc… But overall the game is not THAT bad! 2142 is simply is no worse really than BF2. EA could easily drop there PC support and just produce the console versions. A lot of people here would not care and that is fine. I do care. I want more PC games. I want BF2 and 2142 to have PC versions. I will buy others for sure.

I just decided to also support this one after all the back and forth discussions.
