Some more info posted by whopper-TPF- at Planet Battlefield

"I just did some testing how many M60 bullets and SA-7 rockets it takes to kill the choppers in version 1.1."

"In general, it takes 1 M60 magazine to kill a chopper if you aim for the front or side, and it takes half a M60 magazine to kill a chopper if you aim for the top or tail."

"It doesn't matter where the SA-7 rocket hits the chopper: front, side, tail and top all have the same hitpoints."

"In 1.1 it only takes 2 SA-7 rockets to kill a Cobra instead of 3."

"The OH-6 Loach is the only chopper that has a weak front."

How about some pro's and con's?

Pro: 2 new helo's, more objects and and effects
Cons: Broke BCV temporarilly. Still can't tow the bug gun, still can't open the tango.

    What do you guys think?
  5. #6
The tango is a definate con. As for towing the arti - how often in the game do you think that you would have enough time to grab the gun, tow it where you want it, aim it in the right direction and then use it? I think of it being kind of like the music that you can play - a little bit of candy, but not terribly useful in the game.

I think a lot of the tweaks to the weapons and vehicles will be big pluses once we figure them all out and how to use them. Our defense ought to improve against base raping helo's

Another big pro is the warning icons for mines/booby traps.

I definately agree with the above picks.

Here are a few of mine.

    Pros:

    Pixel dot in the crosshair.

Jeeps are faster and take less water damage.

The Menu is so much better. ie.add buddy / kick player etc...

    New Objetcs for mappin........oh yea.

Cons:  .....Besides the major ones, Lags and Crashing.

The lowered window on the Mutt. Though it looks cool, It provides No cover.

The Mutt's new rocket. Who fights a Helo with a Jeep??? If the missle misses which it prolly will, your screwed. Plus it is practically useless against ground forces, which is what you really fight with the jeep.

The new map. Its pretty cool, but Not what I would expect from "Professionals".

All in all the patch was ok, besides the fact that I can barely play anymore. 0.4 fps in the ho chi mihn temple.

I'm with LoU on HO Chi Minh... if we get a few people extra for the match I might get someone to sub for me. Currently I am running a beefy system, well above what should be necessary to run BFV well and I get about 5-6 FPS in the HCMT temple with settings on low and shadows/ lightmaps off...

I feel like I'm playing BF42 on my 1ghz system again...

While you are having this issue... Many arnt... It is a very odd thing... I would suggest doing everything you cen to see if you can resolve it yourself... [uninstall/reinstall BFV-OS-etc...]

I haven't been in the temple on ho chi min. I have the same temple in OHG and my performance on that map is awesome. I'll have to check it out. I wonder if it is Video card related? I have an ATI 9600.

I hope not as I have an ATI 9800pro
