This may have been posted before. With the patch, all .con tweaks are overwritten. I thought someone might be interested.

Especially interesting is the ability to make custom video settings for a widescreen monitor. I can't wait to try that on my laptop.

sweet. Thanks for the link. Game seemed to run better for me last night after the patch, but haven't played enough to really be able to tell yet.

Lou was having all sorts of hell in the tunnels with Frame Rate... Not sure if it was just him or not since I was unable to duplicate the problem.

I played very well in the tunnels running at 1280*1024 and everything cranked up [shadows, details, etc...]

I had no problems at all in the tunnels - other than TKing my teammates as they popped around a corner a few times....

LoU, I read another guy who has a MX400 stated the new maps ran good, except for the fact that his video card had to clear the buffers every so often. Could that be your problem?

I wasn't running the new maps too great either, but I still have a GeForce4.

I installed the patch and the game wont even load properly. I reinstalled and now it crashes to desktop.

I never had the CTD problems that many were having with the earlier patches so this is kinda frustrating. I'm clearing the registry and reinstalling again. I am really pretty much fed up with BFV. I have never had this kind of trouble running any other game that I have ever owned.

Sorry man, I've had the exact opposite. BFV has never run better for me now.... Funny how software can work great on one machine and break another...

Did you do any of the tweaks mentioned above in the tweakguide? The one about the video refresh always caused my Battlefield to crash to desktop.

    renderer.allowAllRefreshRates 1

By default this setting is set to 0, however it is strongly recommended that you set it to 1 so that your refresh rate can exceed 60Hz in Battlefield Vietnam. In fact if you have a refresh rate fix installed, or are using a refresh rate override on your system, BF:V will not load up - usually giving an error, crashing to desktop or stopping at a black screen - if this setting is not set to 1. There is no reason this should be left set at 0.

Why wouldnt they set 1 as default? Also why wouldnt they make most of everything in that link default??

Breaky, did you install the full patch or the update? I always install the full. I have better luck with it.

Reinstalled, used full patch. I've tried everything in the tweak guide so far and have used 2 different ATI drivers...

Going to clear my drivers next and start fresh from there. I am not going to format again just to get this game running. At least until I burn off a bunch of crap to DVD.

Which sound setting are you using?
