My first venture into BCV produced a map that was probably 50 x 50 grid squares. I wanted close-quarters, no guessing type of infantry combat. You know, something to simply practice shooting. I was too new to make anything work well, but I may go back and complete something similar. I like tiny, TINY little maps every once in a while. Yours seems like exactly what I would have done, had I of been better at BCV when I started it 🙂
But you guys just wait. Once I finish Kill_Hill (by Friday for sure) I'm going to start on a new venture into BFV mapping that nobody has attempted before. Something sort of old_hat in FPS gaming, but never have I seen in this series. I'll give you a hint. Think very very very very very "BIG". Ok, I'll give you one more hint to help you narrow down any guesses. Think very very very very very "small".
"Tower of Doom" is closest. I'm going to take the largest one of the destroyed US buildings into 3DS and am going to make it freaking HUGE. At least 10 to 20X it's original size. The entire map will be this one building and I'm going to give it bases and ladders and paths and tons and tons and tons of aircraft, all limited to inside that building. It will basically be an air-practice-map. But the players will be close to the size of Ratz. Get it? Ratz. Quick, show of hands, who gets it?
Nimh would be good, but you'd be more like the Army men thing... I personally can't wait to see tiny helicopters flying around chairs and tables and shit inside a building.... You could have the flags be like around a Pot or the bicycle model or something, except they would be huge....
There were a LOT of really fun maps like this for the original Unreal Tournament.
I did, I jacked the thread. Didn't even realize until now. I'm sorry brother, will stop at this. Let us know when you have something uploaded for that map and I'll give it a whirl. Again, it's perfectly suited to my tastes and style of play.
Not to mention the Bright Green Sewage Water is really, really cool. Did you notice the water tower is sideways on the building? LoU is really good at taking things that you would never think of doing and making them happen.
