Custom 42 FNF night.

    What would it take to get a 42 server started on ours? Could it be done? If so, how do you feal about returning the custom 42 FNF for at least one friday a month? I may be able to dish out some maps of my own. I kinda miss mapping and the BF2 editor isn't the greatest, and I have a decent grasp of battlecraft.

    42 maps I have somewhere.

    Ghostfront - original
    Ghostfront 2 - never played.
    Dunes - played 1 time and was a hit.
    Nuke Factory - never played. - i may have to find it.[/size][size=24]

    I'd play once in a while. Not sure how it would be going back to '42. Thinking it will seem really, really slow. Willing to give it a shot though.

    What do you think the BF community would think of this? Would they support it?

    there are likely a few people kicking around who would play customs - haven't kept up with the '42 community though at all.

    I jumped in this morning and there were over 800 servers and over 3000 users.

    The only problem is we don't have a BF42 server. I wonder if someone would donate one for a single night a month....

    Oh as far as the vote, I still play 3 or 4 times a week with a clan in Norway that is strictly BF_1942 CTF.
    They have 2 full time public servers and a practice DC_F server by invite only.

    There is a big base of players still out there for the old games.

    I would be willing to play. The problem we have is there are not enough of us to do this ourselves. If we could get buy in from a bunch of people, it would be worth it.

    On a side note, would it be worth it to get an unranked server and run BF2 customs once a month? Are there enough maps to even do this?

    If we are going to do an unranked, I would just wait for some of the WWII mods to be imminent and get it then. I haven't seen much interest in custom BF2 maps at all, only lots of frustration with the editing tools.
