I got $50, so I ordered Neverwinter Nights 2. I wish one of the other FPS's were out....

It is usually the same for me. I am hard to buy for though since everything I like is either too expensive or they do not know what model etc... Just picky I guess but I did give some ideas w/models etc...

My wife actually gave me an IOU for a Logitech Harmony 880 (or maybe the 890) remote control which I did ask for. I am mixed on it as I read a lot of good and bad with them.. Anyone have one?

That is why I buy myself a gift every year, well that and I lived most of my life on my own so that was the only way I got anything 😉

This year was the 80GB Ipod, Tuneflex car holder (that uses Line out instead of headphones) with an airclick wireless remote that I put onto the steering wheel. I also picked up the FM tuner, which BTW, the FM tuner by Apple is a must have, just use a set of headphones with it that are very short. I use a set of Sony's, forget the model, that come short with an extender. Perfect with this.

I also got an Ipaq 2795 PDA from work that is work related but still cool to play with. I am basically a Palm person but wanted to learn this a bit to help others that have Pocket PC's. Any excuse for new toys 😉

No games for me.... I just got the sound card and some other girlie stuff. 🙂

Same here. If I want something, its better to pickup myself. Since I didn't get anything good, I picked up a 23" W-I-D-E screen LCD w/TV for a secondary display. Was going to get a 20", but that last discussion in soundcards left me wanting for more 🙂 It's alittle slow, but wide is better 😆

My talk of bath beads was presuming what Sindy meant by "girly stuff" it's either bath beads or tampons... nothing else is girlie... :-)

My GPS is a Garmin GPSmap 60CSx, it's awesome, I am finding it's within 3' accuracy even indoors... which blows my mind because it shoudln't even work indoors.

I will have to read about it. I am tempted to get a stand alone GPS myself. Right now I have a Holux GPSlim GR-236 Bluetooth transmitting receiver that I use with my PDA's. Works really well. I can also get signals indoors. Your Garmins must be using the same SiRFStarIII or similar Chip-set, it is very sensitive.

The PDA works really well though and I bought a program called GeoNiche 1.43 for it for the Palm. It is a very good off road personal navigation program. Great for GeoCaching etc....

I am unsure though as stand alone ones are more limited with maps and software but are more rugged for bad weather etc... usually. PDA's though have tons of various software and you can load maps and different things.

I am confused 😉

Man, I would be sooooo disappointed to get tampons for christmas... That's just not my idea of a fun gift... Neither are bath beads... I would much rather have a good game or technical item.

And just to clear up the girlie thing, I got a CHI flat iron... It's the best one they make. But, you all are either going to have to ask your wives or do your own reasearch on what a flat iron is and does!!! MUHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!! 😛

Ha, there are several girlie items that you cannot give for christmas, like vacumn cleaners, waffle irons, cookware, or coffee pots. But beauty products, hair dryers, and perfume are OK. Such a strange twisted list of products 😛

Paladin, it's funny you mention the Harmony 880. It's sitting at FedEx, along with the copy of NWN2 I started the thread with. I fat fingered the address and they held it. DOH!

Going to pick it up tomorrow. I'll tell you what I think of it.....

I am thinking I may get the GPS unit instead. Bubba how do you like your GPS unit man? Would you recommend that one?

Depnds on your purpose. I use mine for mapping and field work kind of stuff. It's great, and I venture to guess it'll be competitive with our $15k submeter Survey quality GPS at work. I couldn't believe I got reception inside my house and an accuracy of less than +/-3' while still inside my house. Used it on one roadtrip so far and it did a good job with navigation (not it's purpose or my intended use). All in all I would recommend it highly. I did alot of research on it and it has lived up to all expectations.

I formerly had a Magellan Unit, it was good too. But the new Garmin and garmins in general have more support in the GIS community. Being a professional GIS guy it was critical to me.

I love my new remote. It's like a Tivo, I can't imagine life without it.

Damn it. Now I am unsure which one to get. GPS unit that has a very high geek factor but I won't use as often or a remote that has descent geek factor that I "may" use often, if I like the key layout, but already have a descent one.
