Hey guys, it is with some regret to announce I think I am done with BF2. I will play mods, but as for vanilla or SF I think I am done.

I answer: This new patch sucks a$$. In my first 4 minutes of play I had arty dropped on me and then 2 vehicles dropped on me all of which killed me. Not to mention a few minutes late a crate fell on me and killed me. Maybe I was on a lousy server, but that just sucks. Did the commander need more uncontrollable ways to kill me?
Sorry to hear that Bubba, but at least there are mods starting to come out. I haven't installed this patch yet, but I'm already none to excited about it.

Bubba's overeacting with the dropping of vehicles thing. I don't much like it, I agree, but really Bubba, was U sniping? You deserve it if you laid down, just ASKING to have a vehicle drop on you . . . :rotfl2:
The part where they eliminated the squad changes while dead. . . DUDE! That's what being dead was good for! Now it's wasted time, and you can't join up with ppl sometimes until after you're dead again.
The changes were bad, but mostly for me, BF2 is getting old, and we need some GOOD mods, or a new game or 2 for variety. . .
Bubba, if you were standing in one spot long enough to have a jeep fall on you, shame on you man. Don't hate the game, hate the lame playing... 😉
You cannot judge one evening of bad play and say âno more.â Lets keep playing for a bit, and then if it is still really bad like that on several servers consistently, then we will talk. 😉
BTW snipers deserve a jeep on them, that is just fun! 😉
1.) I was not sniping. I was in a mounted machine gun and then I was on a tow. 2.) This isn't just one bad night it's the culmination of 1 year of progressivly sucking brought to an amazing amount of more ways for a commander to kill you with their new patch. Also probably has alot to do with BF2 burn out do to 1 year of all this crap
Yea. At this point, I am leaning towards Quake Wars with BF2 mods playing backup. I will support the mods, but they are quickly running out of time.....
Great guys. So basically DocJon, Lexx and I are back to the same status of our old clan., everyone just stopped playing. This is why we left them, it got exactly like the attitude here now.
Maybe time to move on again then... and I was just starting to like you guys 😉
I don't have any plans to abandon this game yet. I may play mods more often than not, but I still plan to play. I just enjoy the gameplay more often than I don't. I haven't tried the game since the new patch (other than a mod) but I do agree that the dropping of vehicles is lame and that they are mostly used (at this point) to harrass the other team rather than to assist the commander's own team.
Paladin are you joking about moving on or liking us? 😉
Sarge to answer your questions: âlike you guysâ? Hell yes. You are guys are some of the best and more intelligent guys I have met in some time online. No matter what I would keep in touch here.
Am I leaving?? Well to be honest, maybe. It depends. I said I would give it 6 months remember? If everyone stops playing then that is a killer for me. I do not get to play a lot during the week late like you guys do so when I do play, like on the weekends or weekdays earlier, it would be nice to have guys on TS playing. The clan is small as is and already has a problem in this area. Even the FNF have been slim at best.
When looking for a clan the idea was to join one large enough to always have enough guys in it that there is always someone playing whenever I can join up. So far it has not even been close A weird thing is happening here, the more guys we get, the less people seem to play. We have more members here now than when we joined yet the play time is worse and worse every week. Weird indeedâ¦.
As far as here, I simply do not know what I want to do at this point to be honest.

Paladin's right (alert the media! 😛 ). Seems the more guys who join, the less ppl are playing.
I feel it's just a lot of BF2 burnout, and when we start getting some GOOD mods and new games going, things will pick up again.
Maybe after everyone's done the summer vacation thing, and when everyone's sick of mowing the lawn, trimming hedges, etc, and Quake Wars is released, the gaming will pick up.
When we DO get some hot new mods and games, and when we have our clan mojo working again, I think we need to do some more recruiting. Probably need another 10 guys to replace those that have/will drop off, and have several more to boost the gaming action.
I think Doc is right on.... Paladin, don't give up on us... The summer is always, always slow..... And as mods are released and summer winds down, I think things will pick up. Just wait until BF Pirates comes out.... ARGH!
The next big game to come out would really help.... Then we start recruiting....

Also, if you have some ideas or suggestions, feel free... Like I have said before, we all come from different places and have different ideas.... I still want to check out some more UT mods....
Well I bought Euro Forces and only one other guy here got it. I still have yet to play even one level on it. I still have not seen any of the maps. So we cannot even get together to play something "official" that IS ranked. No one wants to spend the $10. AF will be out soon, if it is not already, and no one will get that either I bet. ;(
We have mods but we play them once or twice an that is it. I kind of liked CTF but that died fast. So Mods won't solve the problem in the end guys. Can we blame it on winter, I think not, it has been slowing down for awhile now and the weather is still not really even summer like yet.
FNF was supposed to be the no matter what else was going on, we play on Friday night. Well this is turning out not to be the case. How about Sat then? Nope people are busy and I understand that, I really do. My point is that we need to recruit HEVALY to get enough guys to compensate for when others are busy.
As for UT2004 forget it man, we cannot seem to agree on what game type to even play 😉 You hate jailbreak, DocJon and I like it. We hate IG but some here do like it.
I still have 2 months left on my 6 months test time so lets see what happens. 😉
I vote with Hymen. I thought of this also, but figured we weren't really recruiting. . .this should eventually be moved to Battalion talk.
Paladin, we're played mods, yeah, but honestly, mostly they were SHIT mods. CTF was the most fun, but even it was primitive. I'd play that one again, but in no way does it take the place of the mudshark in MY mythology. 😀
The one with the burning oilfields had promise, but I kept crashing to desktop except for that one map. . .and like BF2 vanilla, there was the near-godlike airpower. Project reality. . .well, I'll try it, but I'm not sure I'll like it - some of their ideas might not be fun in practice.
I'm still waiting on the really GOOD mods. The mods we've seen so far (with the possible exception of Project reality and whatever the hell that one with the burning oilfield is called) are closer to HACKS than mods. Some interesting ideas, but poorly executed. I understand there ARE some great mods on the way, but because they are huge, with all-new graphics and major changes in gameplay, they are taking a very long time.
UT2004 is something of a problem to Paladin and I, as we don't really go for the insta-gib, whereas there are players here that like nothing better. . .we like regular weapons and/or Jailbreak, so the consequence is we don't play.
Summation: New games and/or GOOD mods are needed, and more players would not go unappreciated.
Well here is the thing I am now starting to burn out on BF2 vanilla. The X-packs are nothing more than vanilla with a few more maps. I bought SF as did most everyone else, but it didn't do much. Also everytime we play an xpack someone logs on and complains because they dont' have it. When Euro Forces came out it seemed no one was interested, so I didn't buy it. Thus far I agree with Doc about the mods, none have been great. But hopefully soon some real mods will be out. Although I will say I liked USI mod alot. CTF wasn't bad, but again we got alot of people who wouldn't DL them
Paladin, I'll check out the Chaos mod if you like. I know nothing about it, but I'm game for one night. I would like to check out some of the other mods UT has to offer. I have always wanted to try Stormtroopers, but never think of it in time.
