Isn't this the whole "Steam" thing all over again?
About the only difference that I see that the article mentions is that they will take this information and use 'direct marketing' to you...
I think that the world has gotten a little too worried about these things...
And really, who cares if they find out you're a furry that likes cuddle parties posted on craigslist? At least you will get some great deals through marketing on your next fox costume. 🙂
[Please note that the above was not ment to be a "dig" on the furry community... What you people do in the privacy of where ever you do that stuff is all good...]
[Another note, I am not saying that Raze is a furry... Not that there is anything wrong with that... I am just trying to make sure I don't have too much of my foot in my mouth 🙂 ]
I'm not sure that origin is going to last all that long. I personally don't see the utility of it, but that could be because I only have one game using it. From what I can see all it does is track my origin friends which is not the same as my BF3 friends 🤦
edit: For me it is as much about what someone else will do with the data when EA gets hacked. They will get hacked at some point and everything they've collected will get out there.
And less seriously, maybe we ought to mess with them by adding a bunch of folders to the /program files directory
