FarCry update 1.2

After reading forums all over the place about how bad the 1.2 patch totally blows I felt that I needed to say something.

I have just now updated my farcry to the newest patch. Since I had already beat the single player game I started again without issues. Next I went to play multiplayer... [rant] First time for me over the Net and I really didn't like the part of freakin creating an account with ubi just to play on OTHER peoples server!!!!! [rant] But once connected I was able to play 3 maps without issue and that was enough testing in my book.

Not really sure what the problem that everyone else is having; however, mine worked just fine.

WinXP SP1 with DX9.0b
ATI 9800 with 6.14.10.6436 drivers

From what I have read, a lot of people with ATI cards are Crashing To Desktop. I haven't heard of anything beyond that.

As for having to register with UbiSoft to play a non-MMORPG game online. Well, that is borderline Up Yours Award material. Can you tell us more about this? Did they just implement this with the latest patch?

Not really sure if it was implemented with this patch or not. This was the first time that I played FarCry over the net. All previous times were over a LAN.

Nope, this feature was put in before any patch.

Friday 07.23.2004 Far Cry 1.2 patch withdrawn

Ubisoft has taken the decision to withdraw this patch due to issues experienced by a number of users. An official statement follows:
"Far Cry patch 1.2 has shown unexpected behaviour on specific hardware configurations. These matters are mainly due to incompatibilities with several optimisations brought lately to the code, with the intent to please a large number of users. We're currently asking CRYTEK to work on delivering a new patch as soon as possible. Until then we have decided to remove the patch 1.2 from the official UbiSoft websites."

yeah, now I wished I would have waited one more day before I patched mine.... now I have a feeling all server admins will be rolling back to 1.1.

Comparing Far Cry to BFV is apples and oranges, I just laugh at those guys when that shit comes up.

I have a wife..... I know that you CAN compare apples with oranges. ... well at least she can, I haven't figured out quite how she does it yet... 😉
