I guess Vanilla BF2 again. Everyone has it.

I'm thinking about something for Saturday with 2142. My copy arrived today, and assuming I can get it installed and running, maybe everyone else who has it, and can get it installed and running, might want to break it in.

If anyone has a different idea, post it.

Not sure exactly when I'll be on tomorrow but I do hope to be there.

Haven't picked up 2142 yet and am probably going to hold off for a little while as I'm not sure how much gaming time I'll have for the next couple of weeks. I know for sure that I won't be around next weekend and possibly the weekend after that.

I am up for either.. I am cleaning off some extra space to reinstall 2142 and waiting on my new system to ship itself from NewEgg...

Now to smack my ISP and make them give me the service i am paying for.. instead of a tenth of it.

You have to set some time aside and call them. Be prepared to be on the phone an hour or more, and to do it a few times. The training level at a lot of these places is pretty poor, and it may take you a few tries to find an experienced person with the knowledge needed to get it done, or someone willing to research a problem properly.

If I run into someone that doesn't seem interested in helping, or seems clueless, I'll say goodbye and then call right back, hoping to get a more experienced person on the next try. They know when and how often you call, so just tell the next person what was wrong with the last person you talked to. The good employees know the troubles involved in dealing with their co-workers, they have to deal with them too! I worked a call center, and I had to do this frequently when trying to find a helpful co-worker to straighten out a customer's problem that I could not directly fix.

You never said you were getting it. Wow I am the last to know 🙂

Cool though. I think this will be good for us to at least have an option for awhile to play something different. I will be on Sat for sure. Heck get it installed today and I will be on early and play some 2142 for a few hours before 9AM EST. I can be on at 7.

I wanted to post a reminder to all: Remember, feel free to join us even if you never have before, or if it's been a long time. You don't have to be GRB to join us for Friday Night Fights, or any night at all. If you're looking for a night of fun and team-play, let us know, or just join us in Teamspeak. We found a lady down the street that has a licensed daycare in her house. Twice a month, she does a Parents Night Out. We decided to take advantage of one of them. :-)

I think we may go see I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry.... :-)

For a married guy with a kid, you really have a lot of the gay going on. . . 😉

Just remember Doc warned you. . .see "The Simpsons!"
  13. #13
First, there is nothing gay about two of the funniest guys around, Adam Sandler and Kevin James. Even funnier, it's not about being gay, but about helping out your best friend, no matter what.

And come on, have you seen the shot of Jessica Biel in her undies..... Arrrrlllllll!

As for the simpsons.... Bleh.... I like the series, but not enough to go to the theater to see it.

We are also considering Spider Man 3 or Harry Potter. We have a gift card to a theater that has IMax, so if either are playing there, we may check them out.

NOTHING gay about, "I now pronounce you Chuck and Larry", where they pretend to be married.

    OK. . .😉

I mostly like Adam Sandler's stuff. Kevin James sucks the funny out of everything. I saw an hour of his stand-up routine on Comedy central, and I never smiled. Bland stuff. I guess he's an OK sitcom actor, but damn, that was some lame stand-up.

    🤣 🤣 🤣

In fairness, his wife might not care to see Spider-man. One of those compromise things.

I'm going to say something here that might offend some or all of you. Do not under any circumstances take this personally.

    All Superhero movies are lame

    yes even spiderman

I'll overlook this heinous statement on one condition: Tell me where the hell is your avatar from.

I do not take offense at all except the generic blank statement that covers everyone but you 🙂

Seriously if you do not like something that is cool but always remember man, that does not mean they are lame to others.

I personally like them if they are well done. I do not like them all. I am not into most post-apocalyptic movies unless they are very well done.

Just like music, everyone is different so always remember that man. I am not into GR2 music nearly as much as GR1. I like punk at times but it is not my favorite music.

Everyone likes different things, this is why different things exist.

Spiderman was great, Batman Returns was excellent! Enough said 🙂

I agree, and I was a comic book guy growing up, but since the 1st Batman I think I haven't liked any of those that I have watched. I gave up on it as a genre a longtime ago.

Batman Returns????? I mean did you see that? That was very close to the dark Knight series. It was VERY well done and looks to be the best versions of The Dark Knight made so far.

Then again you are the one that does not even like Science Fiction. Poor poor you.... 🙂

I love comic book movies 🙂 Enough said.

To bring the thread back on track, I saw you guys playing 2142 and bf2 Fri and Sat nite, but I just couldn't get the urge to load it, sorry... 🙂 Maybe next week.

I liked the very first Batman movie, but everything after that was downhill until Batman Returns. That was a great comic movie.

Spiderman is my favorite Comic Book hero. He's one of the first comics I ever got. Yet, I think the movies are kind of lame. The first episode told the same old story us geeks have heard a million times. I'll give #3 a chance, but I'm not really that excited about it.

I did however enjoy XMen 1 and 2. I haven't seen 3 yet. I am also excited about the Wolverine spinoff.

If a movie is from a comic I try to keep that in mind while watching it and adjust my expectations accordingly. While I would say that most superhero/comic based movies are not Oscar material by far, I have often found them fun to watch. I liked the latest Batman (and some of the others as well), and the Spiderman movies. I thought the hulk was so-so, I liked the first Xmen movie much more than the second. Fantastic 4 was ok as well....

Sin City was a fun as well.

I'm sure that there are more, I just can't remember them at the moment.

The only comics that I read growing up where Sgt. Rock and the other WWII based ones.

RE: FNF - I didn't manage to get on until late. Once I was able to get down to my office I realized that I hadn't patched BF2 back up to 1.41 or installed the new map, adjusted my settings or my controls. Took longer than I wanted to get that done 😒

See as a comic reader I was a big Daredevil fan, and the movie sucked beyond belief

I used to like Tim Burton's "Batman" for what it was, but now, it just looks like an 80's version of the 60's camp series to me. I don't like ANY of the Batman movies now except for "Batman Begins"(the Christian Bale movie), which is what I think you meant instead of "Batman Returns". I can TOLERATE them to a degree, can have them playing in the background while I'm doing something on the computer, but I don't actively like them.

"Batman Returns" had Danny Devito, with all the black crap coming out of his mouth for half the movie. Damn, Burton got into the bad drugs during that project.

The first X-Men movie was great. The second one was better. The third one was never made. That's what I choose to believe.

I will not watch anything that idiot does ever again... Oh man that last one with Arnold was one of the worse movies EVER!!!!
