The more I play this game, the more I find. A few thoughts after playing it a few more times.
4 of us teamed up on a squad and had a freaking blast. We had a medic, support person and two fighters. It worked out very well. You need the support guys. There is nothing like bringing a buddy back from the dead. :-) Also, being able to spawn on the Squad leader is an interesting thing, especially when he's driving a big vehicle. You pop right into the vehicle. I loved that, but I can see it getting abused. It is really important the squad leader is not the medic, so you can bring him back to life if he dies.
On the current map, we played as MEC. Not once did we win, even when it seemed like we controlled the game. I'm not sure how the ticket thing works, but we need to figure it out. Another issue is the transport Helo on US. I think it really unbalances the match.
Another thing I noticed last night is it is a blast to move in a coordinated squad, but this game is all about the vehicles. We did so much better when we had wheels. I would love to play this in a Infantry Only ladder.
A good commander makes all the difference. We had a bad commander who kept giving our squad stupid orders like attack the next flag, the most expected point. The commander switched latter on and the new guy understood the concept of flanking and taking the flag of least resistance, boxing in the enemy. He gave great UAV support and artillery. That was fun.
I can't wait to play the full game. I just hope and pray it's more balanced than I have seen so far.
