Good deal on older Battlefield series

Circuit city is selling this for $19.99, and it contains all of the original BF games, along with BF Viet Nam.

I don't have this (though I've played it more thana few times). . .I was thinking about picking it up, since GRB has that Viet Nam mod, and everybody used to love Desert Combat. . .do you guys think we'll every play any of these? No sense wasting money if it's not going to get used.

I'll be honest. As much as I miss BF42, it really doesn't feel right any more. It's such a different game than BF2.

I would like to play the BFV mod, but I have a feeling it is going to be a bust. I can't even get the damn server files posted anywhere. PBF and FilePlanet have been really crappy about the file stuff and I don't know what else to do. 🙁

I'd say your money and get QW.

I think I'd be up for some bf42 anytime. But it really takes at least a few. Although I think Atomm, is right it feels really weird now adays, but still fun for me.

It's a bummer about your mod, but you really kinda shoulda wrapped it up and released it a year ago. . .I know, you always meant to go back and tweak it. . .

BFV mod has files up on Filefront and Fileplanet. Could not see any servers in the browser though so I couldn't play it.

Battlegroup 42 released their 1.3 version today as well and it includes Ghost Front - the map that Raze built from Atomm's inspiration.

Played a bit tonight with one of the -=NC=- guys. It was fun, but with only two of us, not that intense 🙂

Doc, it wasn't ready a year ago. There were some major problems when everyone disappeared. Raze worked them out one by one. Back then, we were tied to giving EA the mod for QA testing before release. We came close to getting it out the door, but BF2 took all of the QA time. Then BF2 came out and BFV was dropped like a hot potato.

As for the BF42/BFV for $19.99. In all honesty, I believe it's one of the best deals you can get on a game. I just don't know how much fun you are going to get out of it. BG42 was great and I would love to play it again, but I feel everything coming out for those two games is short lived. 🙁
