Tonite was probably the funnest night of BF2 that I think I've ever played. Combining GRB and CAT on one server was very Rockin! The amazing thing for me, I was out of my norm the whole night. I typically play Special forces until I die then move to Engineer. Tonight I was flipping back and forth with assult and sniper. I'm never any good with a sniper, but that was when the real fun began. I'm still really rusty and uncertain the performance of the sniper so it takes me 2-3 shots for the kill. I'd like to get that down to 1 shot. I know it is possible because it has happened to me.
Again great fun and that is the busiest I've seen the server.
Yea, it was a blast. I am glad we moved over to our server. I wanted to see how it would handle 40 players. I think it worked pretty well. Oh yea, after you guys started leaving things picked up. When I left we had 40. :-)
The CAT guys were great. Maybe we will have to break down and run ventrillo. Shiver.......
hmm. Tried to play on the server on Sat and Sunday night. Saturday we had 9 but couldn't get a 10th 🙁 If it wasn't so late Bubba would have been getting a call!
Sunday night I played solo for about an hour 🙁 Some of the CAT guys have also tried to play with no luck getting the required 10.
If we go back to 32 players, does that lower the number needed to start?
Anybody have any ideas how we can better coordinate the two groups so that we know if people are going to get on and play?
I was going to try to jump in, but I wasn't feeling well.
As for coordination, I thought about asking Dick if we should create a forum specifically for us to talk about the server. If any of the CAT guys want to play in TWL with us, they would need access over here anyway.
You might shop the idea to them and see what they think.
They have a running "who's playing when" thread at their forums that everyone can view which seems to work for them well. Be nice if you could pick that thread out and post it on our forums as well.
Maybe we need to try Xfire again as a group or ASE.
If you venture into our "Who's Playing When" thread, just be prepared to wade through pages of anything from discussions about when it is proper to use mayonnaise as a condiment to what might be growing in Courtney Love's panties.
It's usually my job to post the news of the weird, retarded, and just plain f*cked up over at the CAT board. On a slow news day, I can always fall back on Courtney.
