Interesting trivia - the guitarist for that band was about 14 when "I Ran" was made. Not the most technically demanding guitar part, but it has an addictive hook with a strangely restrained, minimalist feel to it. It's a really good 80's pop song that's become rather iconic of the era.

Second okay I will ask. This will make me sound like an idiot but I am never afraid to ask a question as that is how you learn: What exactly is Guitar hero anyway?
I do not do consoles so never seen it in person, only the commercials. I know it has a toy guitar that plugs into the console and the game plays classic tunes but what exactly do you do with the toy guitar? Do you actually have to match notes or something??? I have always been curious 😉 I thought it was just something you strummed along with the music and never understood the game aspect of it.

I miss playing drums 🙁 Played all throughout going to school... Owned one of the drum sets used by Boston in their studio [went to school with the drummers son]... Now... I am just an old man that sits around writing code 🙁

Honestly I have never played it so the others can get more into telling you all about it... I have some friends that go nuts over it and my son plays it like crazy at his friends house.
But the basics to it is that you "play" along with a song being played.
my impression was you need to try to push the buttons that the screen tells you to. The better your accuracy the better your dude on screen plays. I loved an interview from the guitarist from Anthax saying he tried to play the game to one of his songs and sucked so bad.
So guitar skill =not needed, ability to hit lots o random buttons quickly and accuratly= the good.
Not hit notes randomly...... Or else I would be good....
The guitar is the joystick....
Think of it as Dance Dance Revolution for rockers....
And for you drummers, check out Rock Band, coming out soon. It's guitar hero to the extreme. Guitar, Bass, Drummer and Singer/Tamborine can all play together. You even get score bonuses for doing well together....

It's funny, but we had a guy at work way back in 2001-2002 that was a big "nerd". He was a nice enough guy, but you wondered if the light in the attic was on. Anyway, over the course of the year, he lost a lot of weight. I mean a major drop. Turns out he was doing DDR competitively.
In a strange sense of irony, this video game changed his life.

That makes good for a really good idea and selling point for them... Dancing has been used a lot for weight loss and doing it this way would be good for those of us that dont want to watch some guy in REALLY short shorts jumping around on screen...
