For $20, it may be worth it just for the DoD Source (WWII) mod. If you have a compusa close by, drop in and pick it up.

    LINKY!

    Cool cool.
Heading to Boise this weekend and that is the closest CompUSA.

Looks like I'm getting me a neeeeew game.

    GET BF2 1st DAMMIT!!!!
    That is an order

I thought he said it was on the way.

Anyone else going to get this? I really would like to try out DoD and we already have a HL2 server set up. The cool part is I can use Steam to install the mod directly to the server.

nahhhh I looked for BF2 this weekend in the local papers Bestbuy, EB etc.... have not ordered it yet.
When it drops below $40 I'll get it. Two weeks ago it was $39.99 should have got it then.

But HL2 for $20.00 oh yeah.

Who else has HL2? Is it any good?

No it sucks don't waste your money, get BF2. Ok, well I don't know but still get BF2

Duck, HL2 is great but you may run into problems with that video card. I may know how to make it work for you if you get it though. I ran it on that card and it still looks Fing great, only lowest settings. But it runs into memory errors. Like I said I though think I have a fix for it now!
Awesome game and DoD Fing kicks ass. It's the first game I've ever played online. Then I found BFV, and this wacky bunch.

I am going to pick it up this week. I hope I can play it. The first HL gave me vertigo big time.....

    Hyman : Atomm.
I grabbed the demo which has 2 "maps" it ran fine Hyman on the card, and Atomm I too use to get vertigo on Joes' PC when he played it.
Not this time around for me. Did have some points where I actually said "Oh $hit!" out loud when the bugs jumped me, I was not ready for it.

DoD looks wicked awesome!, if I can get the game Sat, I'll be hooked for sure.

Well as far as the demo goes it played well. Just not quite my style.
Does any one know if you get the other mods witht he game, or are they free to download?

I'm reall interested in Day of Defeat.
  11. #11
Day of Defeat: Source will be free. It is also autoinstall through the source engine if I understand correctly. For $20, I think it's worth checking out. I would really like to find another cool WWII game.

Smae here, Joe use t o be big in to CS and the whole add on module stuff a few years ago, that was before I got in to online gaming.

EJ you picking it up or you just gonna bust our balls over this one?
    Anyone else getting it?

$19.99 is far better than the retail $54.99, but follow this link and $19.99 is about $19.00 still to much....

I'll be skipping the CompUSA offer this Saturday and will bid on Ebay.

P.S. Bidding on BF2 now, hope to win one by Monday, so I can ply by next Friday.

coolness. Might have to do my future game shopping on ebay 🙂
  15. #15
    Duck,

You might check into this. There is something fishy about this. I've never seen this many games so cheap for such a hot game. Make sure you can acutally play a used copy of the game. If they registered with Steam, the CD Key may not work for you.

I am not sure about this, but look into it.
  16. #16
I think there is something about it, once registered they cannot be played online.

Just ebay an un opened box, never played.
So far I have never been screwed with ebay software, BF_1942 Road to Rome, Secret Weapons, BF_Vietnam.

All have been un-opened. (all but one still had the BestBuy full price tag on also... )

Just be careful, the Software clearing houses use Ebay, and they are good.

Nope, I'm sticking w/ BF2 and I've said my peace on the rest.

Well CompUSA did not have it, and the one I went to did not even know it was on super sale.....
Even when I showed them their own ad from their own web site......

Atomm told me that Walmart matches prices, so even before I went to CompUSA I stopped at wally-world and picked up their last copy of HL2.

    w00t

The punk in the department was giving me crap but the dpt mgr said it was cool, the floor mgr had to do a price override so I got it with out tax too....

Damn it's a long install. From start to game play 1 hour 10 min.
Then when you go to play CS:Source it first updated, another 45 min.

For those who don;t know (like me) CounterStrike is allot like Americas Army. Once you die you stay dead until the last man is alive.
Who ever is the last man, that team wins. So naturally some servers I tried every one runs and hides and the matches take for damn ever.

Hope DoD is not the same way.

I haven't even installed mine yet....

    slacker
  21. #21
Last I checked, DoD:Source wasn't out, so I have plenty of time. Besides, I have installed the server already. :-)

Original DoD wasn't like CS - you spawned back in. I stopped playing it when people bitched at me for using the voice stuff in the game one day.

HL and HL2 are the 2 games that my fear of heights kicks in! I literally was playing with sweaty hands on the last section of HL2 because of the illusion of height that the graphics for the Citadel showed. No other games seem to pull that off - even falling out of the plane in No One Lives Forever!
