Played the Demo..
It's much of what I expected.. the graphics are indeed nice.. the smoke/explosive effects look awesome.. Plenty of visual Candy.. The opening of the Demo has you looking around at the dogfight.. the Stuka crashing.. the interesting new health meter..
But..
It's the same Linear play I was hoping not to see.. having to go one route only.. enemies act as if it's some pop up shooting gallery.. Too much predictability..If you die o nce you restart a section you already know where the enemy will be.. where to throw a grenade when you might not of.. I could see myself breezing through this game in less then a day or two.. I find myself picking up the mp40 always to use rather then the Thompson as well.. There also doesnt seem to be any bonus in keeping your men alive.. they just serve as bullet bait with crappy aim & timing..
I don't think I can bring myself to spend 50 on it though.. It's what BF2 isnt in it's a fun singleplayer with a movie-esque feel.. just needs some work in adding some randomness..
It's an open map game, you have items that need to be completed, but not in linear order.
The AI has been programed very well.
Buy it on ebay, or bit torrent it for free. Compered to the smoking turd BF2 is, this game is stellar.
I saw no open map play with the demo map.. I had to go a certain pathway to get to the radio.. then follow another pathway with no deviation to the next area with the HQ.. That's Linear..
Unless the AI is somehow different in the Full Version the fact the guys pop up..shoot.. pop down..pop up shoot pop down.. They only show any sort of semblence if you get close to them.. then they get pretty mean..
The game is a short-term fun singleplayer with that your in a movie feel.. but it lacks in any real challenge
Anything could beat BF2's Singleplayer 😛
