I also wonder how this will work with IP blocking connected with FIOS?

Drix and I were just talking about this very thing the other day. According to him, there is at least one guy that VPNs into their local LAN. He said I could do that as well if I wanted. I wonder how the latencies would be from this far away. I know my VPN at work isn't very fast, but I think that is a limitation of the DSL connection that we have there.

Indeed. Sounds cool, gonna need to play with it. Work VPN is slowed based on the fact we have a lousy Upload at our office.

This is from their site:

"When the client is activated, it establishes TCP connection to one of the mediation servers and starts speaking Hamachi protocol to log itself in and synchronize with other clients."

I am going to default to paranoid mode and say NO. I really am not comfortable having to go through their servers even if it is only to establish a connection.

Time will tell and I hope it proves to be safe but for now I will wait and see.

Yeah I noticed the same thing and nixed it at that. I can't possibly send my work data through an unknown proxy.

I've used it a couple times now.
It works real well.
You just have to remember to disconnect from it when your finished.
It imulates (sp) an IP and really screws up your firewall ; )

Not exactly Sarge, I meant full Cisco VPN concentrator type-stuff. But We have used this a time or two in the past to play Flatout. Works well for it. But I have no idea what kind of bandwidth/etc. that it needs to run.

Hunter you do realize that DocJon fixed your sig awhile back? You never looked at it or mentioned for anyone to copy it to the server so you can use it. He changed your text to be HuNTeR as you asked!!!

Drix, can you explain about FlatOut using this? I have been trying to figure out a way we could play that game in the group.
