The above thread details how to set environmental sounds for a new map. These environmental sounds currently are just copied from other maps, but for jungle maps, etc it would work.

Still looking for how to create/ change in game toggled sound like the GI-Jane speech.

This is info about how to place area specific custom sounds in BC42. I haven't found anything yet for BC-V, but I'll keep looking. It may be the same. I'm not very familiar with map editing and config editing for BF42 or BFV so this is not something I would be able to figure out very quickly. Maybe one of you can make more sense of it, but this looks pretty informative.

Glad to see progress in action. Nice work

Yeah i have a map with a stream and some marshes. I'd love to place some frogs. I'v e played maps with crickets in areas.

LoU, what map do you want to have sound in first? I think I can do it based on those two threads. I'll try it this weekend.

Any particular sounds you want in the map? Crickets here, Wind Here, Running Water here, etc.....

You can try it on whatever map you want. If you get it working, we will put sounds on everymap.

Great enviroment sounds to try for IMO would be: ocean noise / running water / frogs / crickets / birds / and wind, but wind could be hard as in setting distance.

Second, If you can replace the "Where are you going Soldier" and the "FAll Back!!! guy that would rock.

We could also come up with soimething new for the small radios ive seen in a few maps.

And lastly, and This could be a toughy. The noise when your flying a jet. To me it is way to loud and the misc. talking is pointless and interfears with team communication.

These are all the main things I could think of that would really impact the level of playing.

I think that in vehicle settings would fall under Mod editing and involve an edit of the BFV game itself and not map dependent. Based on what Ive read so far I think thats the case, however I could definitely be (and often am) wrong.

Yea, I agree with Breaky. That may be beyond our ability at this time.

I was thinking about capturing something from our current station, adding some 60's ambience/static and putting it on the radio (maybe at the cafe?). Sort of Gamers Radio, in game. I might even do some voice work or something for it. Need to come up with something funny to say. Any help writing it, would be appreciated.

If you can replace the "Where are you going Soldier" and the "FAll Back!!! guy that would rock. What would you like to replace this with?

ocean noise / running water / frogs / crickets / birds / and wind. I think this is can be done.

I got the environmental sounds from Ho Chi Minh working in Sacred Grounds, but i couldn't get any area specific sounds to work.

YEah that 2nd thread is area sounds but for BF42. Haven't seen anyone post something like it for BFV yet, I was hoping it would work the same , but might not...

Can u decompile Quang Tri and see how they put in the GI-Jane at the temple?

You have to use R. Lee Ermey. He has to say something appropriate to this situation.

Yea, We need sound clips from Mail Call on the History Channel. I'm sure I can find something from Full Metal Jacket too. I think Raze and I were talking about him.

Breaky, The GI-Jane chick is actually an object built that way. I'm not sure how easy it would be to reverse engineer. I'm going to use the instructions you provided to import existing sounds from other maps first, then I'll start working on the custom sound object stuff. We can figure it out, I'm sure.

I agree with Sarge Ermey has to be in there somewhere.

For the Fall back guy, do a voice over saying something like, "The enemy has infiltrated our flag, Everyone move in!"
Thats way better than telling people to run away. I cant believe thats what EA used.

As for the Propaganda lady. Use that EA gamer speech off the home page. That would crack people up so bad they couldnt shoot straight.

The overall noise add so much its ridiculous. Now if we can get area specific noises, and custom sounds we will be in buisness. If Atomm gets the radio idea working then custom area specifics can be done. That'll be great.

 Now this is a mapping team

Both links are for Full Metal Jacket Soundboards. I think they are in Java so you would need to record the sound with a 3rd party program unless you have a java compiler then you could decompile and extract the files manually. Honestly, recording it with a 3rd party program would be easier. If you guys have a hard time doing this, let me know what ones you want and what format you want it in and I can do that.

    Breaky = Reverse Engineer 🙂

Stay away from my Gibson man! 🙂
  16. #16
I should be able to record those with one of my sound programs.

If there are any in particular you think would fit, post here.

Just keep in mind what you use. Just remember that there are some "younger" players from time to time.

Hey, you leave me out of this!

Well, the rating on the game allows it I think? Besides I could put in a few very generic *BLEEP*s here and there like "I WILL RIP OUT YOUR EYES AND SKULL*BLEEP* YOU" and everyone would get what it would mean and I think it sort of adds to the humorous effect...

I'll do my best to keep this violent game where the object is to kill your opponent with life like weapons as G rated as possible. :-) hehe

Actually, I wasn't planning on using anything to vulgar.
