March 28th is the last weekend of the month, so whats gonna happen with GamersRadio and custom map night? I'm already psyched...bring it on!!

May 28th is still undecided. Anyone have any suggetions for custom maps?

    Atomm,

I checked out a few maps but have found nothing that is worth playing at this point. Found one map that is pretty cool called "Operation Morning Sun", but the ticket bleed is messed up. Both sides slowly bleed until they hold all seven of the flags, then the side that doesn't have the flags continues to slowly bleed.

There were two other maps that I wanted to look at, but the wait time at fileplanet was like hours. Will try again tonight.

Well unfortunately I won't be able to attend the map night again as I will be working. I hate graduating and then having to be responsible and go to work. All that hard work to ruin my damn friday night fights and custom map nights 🙁

Phoooey on growing up I tell ya.

Time to get another degree and delay your entry to the real world. Why do you think that I have a Masters Degree? It certainly wasn't to advance my career!

    Lol sarge,

I got one of those too

Shows you what a masters degree is worth. All that learning and they still waste their time playing stupid games...... 😛 Shouldn't you guys be on The Apprentice or something?!?

I thought about getting a Masters degree, but then they told me I would have to actually attend school this time around. I said no way! Nothing doing for me. I got my piece of paper and it says I earned my BS in IS. What I can't figure is who the hell came up with this silly 4 year rule. I may be dumb, but I'm edumacated and the 2.5 times longer I spent earning that damn thing sure didn't feel like 4 years to me. Don't you just hate when life gets in the way.......!

LOL. No, no apprentice for me, i'm saving the world (or at least my little corner of it) from the Department of Transportation.

Just wanted to say, The Description Atomm wrote on the Main page is awesome. I especially like the Farcry line.

One thing is we have sounds, but they are not custom.....yet. So you may want to edit that part.

Either way I think everyone will like and enjoy both maps.

Atomm and I have been going to school for as long as I can remember. So my associates degree in nursing has roughly taken me 7 years to complete. At least I can say I chose a career that, rest assured, there will always be a demand. Doesn't mean I have to like it though.

Just to let everyone know. There has been well over 200 downloads of the mappack for tonight. This is gonna kick ass.
  13. #13
Subtract 10 from our count. I set it up before it was available and 10 people tried to download it. So far, we have 20 downloads from here and with PBF clocking in at 202 by 2am last night...... All I can say is get in early.
  14. #15
    cool.
  15. #16
    WOW! 272 PBF + 41 GRG - 10 administrative downloads = 303 total downloads to date.
  16. #17
    Rock on!
  17. #18
This is awesome. You know what this all means though, don't you. Out of 300+ downloads there have to be at least 150 smacktards. That's just the rule in Battlefield.

Better cross your fingers and hope we can kick people with the new Server Manager. I haven't tried it since upgrading last week. Before that, I couldn't kick anyone. I don't want to go through that again.
  19. #20
Question is....can WE get in? lol
  20. #21
Whoops didn't realised I'd timed out. Can an admin please delete that Guest Post?

To reiterate. I played with a few of you tonight and had a lot of fun. Nice work on the maps Lou. My clan doesn't play much BF:V anymore so you'll likely be seeing more of me. And a custom map server is sweet to boot.

    btw Atomm nice avatar. Later.

    Later

Cool. It was a great time. One thing for sure, BFV players are starved for custom maps. More so than BF42 players.

Had a great time tonight. Drop by any time. If you see a GRB map running and it's not in the downloads, then we are probably testing it for future release. Got a lot to wrap up.

FNF was great last night! I can't remember which one of the GRB maps it was, but the one with the islands all connected together was a great map. I liked the dock map, if only it was a little more balanced with just a few more ladders. The other GRB map was sweet looking but I was having the "Lag" issues, so it was a little tough. Doing the Village was a good map too. The others I could take or leave.

Had a great time killing and mostly getting killed by you guys last night, can't wait for the next custom map night!!

I agree Bubba. GRB No Remorse is one of my favorite maps. It's perfect for about 20 people. The other island map was intersting. I had some good fights, but the whole dock thing was a pain. I think Doing The Village is one of the premiere BFV maps if you are going for a more realistic feel. The flags are spread out enough to allow you to get behind your enemy, but not so far that you can't get into the action quickly. The two river flags really seemed to be the choke point in the map.

I still don't get Junglehunt. So what that it has tunnels based on the actual Dice tunnels. They were boring and had several flaws. I almost had to kick a guy for getting in the tunnel below me and killing me through the dirt. I really think the tunnel in GRB Ghost In The Darkness (to be released soon) blows away anything in Junglehunt and it was done with creativity.

All in all, it was a good night. We stayed busy from 7pm to just after midnight. We peaked at 29 twice. Given the load the custom maps were putting on the server, I think that was about right. I can't wait for next months event. Heck, we may have too many GRB maps to even think about playing other maps. :-)

Ahhh, so that's how he was killing me. I was thinking i just didn't see him. The DICE tunnel is cool (IMO), but i can see why they didn't include it in the game and it must be a true pain in the ass to work with. The biggest problem I had with that map overall (aside from the fact that it was way too big) was that about half of the ladders didn't work and you would get stuck, whether in a tunnel or out of one.

The Lau Thu Isle one has potential - get rid of some of the docks, and some of the spawn bugs, and it could be good. The boats being trapped within the docks is just plain stupid.

GRB-NRFTW. I like this map, but I was having some laggy play on it last night. Nothing too serious, just a general slowness. I also think it could be split into two really fun maps without loosing anything.

GRB-No Remorse is just a fun one to play. Took all of my willpower not to spam for knife fights last night though, and by the time it came around again, I was ready to crash.

Doing the Village is fun, seemed like both rounds I played in were over really quickly with each side notching a win.

Hill 937 was again just too big. Had some great firefights in short bursts, but the size played against this map, even when we were pushing 30 players it still seemed relatively empty. Just like Junglehunt.

Anyways, good job choosing maps Atomm, I had a great time and was psyched to see a big group there. I was also happy to see minimal tards around.

I wouldn't mind an all GRB map night next time - certainly would mean a selection of high quality maps, and less fishing on your part.

i've been playing with the dice tunnel in my test-ideas map and I guess I never found the dice tunnel in junglehunt, because what I have is far different than what I was in. BTW, you only need to add one ladder to the dice tunnel if you know what you are doing... I can go in and out of every entrance and transverse though the whole tunnel with only adding one ladder. The key to the steep parts is to use the forward, left strafe, and jump continiously.
