I stumbled upon this game late last week and it has been a lot of fun. It's certainly not as detailed as some of the newer baseball games, but it is more involved than the Wii baseball that is in Wii Sports for instance. Best of all, it is free.

You sign up and get to choose which MLB team you want to be. You can choose your lineups, starting pitchers, and there are "extras" that you can "buy" as you earn "nuts" by playing games. Each pitcher has 3-5 pitches that they throw and you can determine placement, power and accuracy. Hitting is dynamic and truly seems to depend on where you strike the ball with the bat. You can steal bases, get caught in rundowns, hit and run, bunt, and there is also a "power swing" that I haven't tried to use yet so I don't know how it works exactly.

Each player has attributes that at least generally reflect their real life skills. Some are faster, or better fielders, or stronger and they gain levels as you play more. You start off playing 3 inning games and then as you gain levels, you can play longer games. Most people that I've played against seem to like the 5 inning games.

Servers are segregated by your team skill level. Noobs are put into a default set of servers that has just level 1 and 2 folks. The next is levels 3-9, and then I'm not sure from there. However, just like in real life baseball, you can take down higher skill teams sometimes. You can password protect rooms within servers so that you can make sure you play with particular people (hint, hint).

I'd love for a few people to grab this and play. It has been a fun diversion from shooters and has helped me get my spring baseball fix 😀
