Name Tag Issues

Check this out guys. We are playing tonight, myself, Atomm, EJ and The dude TCA-ECF. So I keep getting teamkill notices. TCA tells me to stop tking him, he's on teamspeak with us. I told him it's not TKs he's red. He says he's on my team. Atomm confirmed he's on my team. I hit TAB to see if he's on my team or the others, and he's not on mine. So here are the screenies. Don't beleive I took these about the same time, check out the ticket counts.

It was very odd. I thought he was kidding around at first as well. I wonder if everyone on the team saw me as an enemy?

I've had the same thing happen to me once. The guy on the receiving end wasn't as friendly about it though.

Thats a Bug in the game they've yet to figure out how to patch. It happens randomly for no reason. One person may see u red another not, then the next time they see u, you could be blue again.

The code in this game is so crazy, my server menu still doesn't work even after patching. But I could rant all day on the problems with BF2. lol

Lou beat me to it, know issue, Rat Bastards have no clue where the bug is and have no earthly idea how to fix.

In some small dimly lit office at Rat Bastard HQ, they are hoping that not too many people figure out that their product sucks ass and that they released crap. Only for the sole sake of lining their pockets and taking kids hard money for inferior software.

My suggestion is to ban Bubba for excessive team killing. :twisted:

I have heard about the nametag thing, but the part i don't get is him being on the other team in my "tab-listing".

So I guess for you a picture is NOT worth a thousand words?

Duck, I have no problem with your EA tag, but I do have a problem with saying release a quality product like Valve. Steam was a complete disaster when HL2 was first released. Even today, there is debate about whether is is good or bad.

No software company releases bug free products. The difference is the stance they take on relase dates. EA holds to them, but companies like Id say it'll be done when it's done. Even then, they have initial release problems.

I have a love/hate relationship with EA, but in this case Valve is not the model of perfection. ;-)

Back on topic. The funniest part about this whole situation was I introduced bubba to TCA and said watch out for him, he likes to TK. Bubba then says, Yea, I'm a Dick. Of course, we were both just kidding, but then Bubba starts TKing TCA over and over. At that point things got interesting.

A little later bubba apologized and said, I was only kidding about the Dick part. The jury is out on that statement. 😛

It was very classic. I was wondering why my other teammates weren't killing him during the first 2 TKs, he was standing in the middle of all of them. The the third tk all I saw was a red tag. I did feel genuinely bad though.

5 words is alot from me though, typically it's grunts.

I spoke with a few people today regarding this issue. It happens more often than we know. Usually people don't think twice about it, and chalk it up to the other player is being a teamkiller etc...

All and all, I had some great fun playing on your server last night. It's nice to play with some cool people that are just out to have a good time playing.

Yeah I enjoyed TKing you. I'll tell you it was a real pain to photoshop those pictures so quickly. JK. Seriously though, hop in with us anytime.

That is a great idea! Duck, you've found your calling. Change your name to NameTagBug, then go around tking everyone, everywhere! :-) You can then blame it on EA. Spread the good word brother Duck!

No need to blame the bug, just kill Bubba like I do. My gaming night is not complete unless I TK Bubba once, and he me.

You laugh Atomm last week I played on a server who had an Iraq player with the player name American-Spy ALl he did was place C4 on our (Iraq) Arty and Trailers.
That was his gig play on the opp team and destroy their stuff. I was Commander and I kept killing him to make him stop destroying our arty and the F-ing game kicked me for TKing.

He had his act down. I jealous.
